More accurately, it started out with Presto (RB) and his Free Tiger
Rides. When I emptied the laundry basket, Presto would hop into it,
at which point I would *slowly* carry it back toward the laundry room
calling out "Free tiger rides! Free tiger rides! Hi Sissy! Bye Sissy!
(as we walk past Senyah) Free tiger rides! End of the line, top of the
freezer!"
After Presto passed away, Little Feet was not interested in the free
tiger rides.
Then along came Dulce Mae, and she took to the Free Princess Rides!
with a passion. As *soon* as I clear a princess-sized spot in the
basket, she hops in. As I remove clothes, the stretches out just a
little more, to fill up the extra space, until she is laying across
the entire length of the basket.
Then it's: "Free princess rides! Free princess rides! Hi Sissy! Bye
Sissy! (as we walk past Senyah) Free princess rides! End of the line,
top of the freezer!". She then preens to her heart's content and
eventually comes back to where she can purr to me.
Tonight, Bucky threw a monkey wrench into that ritual - he jumped into
the basket first. The gall! Dulce Mae immediately jumped in, and
slap-hissed Bucky, who slap-hissed back, but with a "what did I DO?!?"
tone.
I broke it up a couple of times, as Dulce Mae TOLD him in no uncertain
terms that it was HER ride, not his, and that she didn't have the
princess-accustomed space she needed in which to lounge in luxurious
comfort, with him there.
Needless to say, I ended up giving Free Kitty Rides to both, although
the ride was a bit harder on the driver (me), with the solid weight of
a growing kitten as well as that of a beautiful princess.
At the top of the freezer, Dulce Mae jumped out in disgust, while
Bucky looked all around saying "Wow! Gee whiz, this is NEAT!"
Dulce Mae tells me that Bucky had better watch his back in the near
future...

Roxy loves to jump in the laundry basket when the clothes are fresh out
of the dryer. But when I start removing clothes, she doesn't recognize
that as an opportunity to stretch out with greater space and comfort.
Instead, she gives me a dirty look because I'm pulling her bed right
out from under her! When the basket is finally empty, is she grateful
for maximum space? No - she sits there looking bewildered, like where
did all those nice warm, soft clothes go??!

Ever try swinging the basket back and forth with her in it? (I'm not
sure your back would agree to this activity...) Roxy *loves* this!

Cinnamon loves to sleep in the laundry basket. She does know she's not
allowed to jump into the basket with clean clothes in it. She will sit and
watch until I remove the clothes and then jump in and lay down.

LOL! Around here, we have the Dante Express. He sits in a box and I drag
it around making choo choo noises.

Hobbes used to do that with shoe boxes, except that we would push the
box between us up and down the hall. If there was a shoe box on the
floor Hobbes would get in it and look at us expectantly. He would
spend hours if we could keep it up.
