I *used to have* a very nice map of the world on the wall in my
computer room. Licorice has been slowly ripping the edges of it,
which I tolerated because the parts that got ripped weren't part of
the actual map. He likes to take the push pins (that hold the map
up) out of the wall and bat them around on the floor. Then he carts them off to
other areas of the house (for me to step on - ouch). When I find
them, I put them in places he can't get to. I'm not crazy about him
having those things in his mouth because of the sharp pin.

He loves to take things off walls and tear them up. So far, he's
removed almost everything from a cork bulletin board I also have in
the office. He bats at the papers from a perch on the treadmill
standing nearby, and when they fall to the floor, he tears them up. I
didn't mind that so much, because almost everything on that cork
board was old and outdated - so he was just helping me clean up!
Eventually, though, he removed everything he could reach on the cork
board, so he went back to tearing the edges of the map.

Well, tonight I came home to find the map on the floor, and Licky
dive-bombing it. Sigh... I give up! I really liked that map, but
(1) it's pretty torn up by now, and (2) he's having a grand time with
it - so it has now become a Licky toy. It's a large sheet of paper -
about 45" by 30" (114.3 by 76.2 cm), so he's been "hiding" under it
(with his lower half sticking out), jumping into it, ripping it,
meowing loudly at it, and lying on top of it, looking proud of
himself.

Europe and Asia received major damage, as did Africa. Also, northern
USA/southern Canada are missing a big chunk. And now, the Great
Destructor is off, pursuing other activities...

ROFL!!!
Here is proof--PROOF!--That inside the sweetest lap cat lurks a longing for
world domination!!! Licorice Rules!! And after that,  a nap and a good wash.
=o) I think Licky must be seeking out any celestial maps you might have
lying around. He's conquered the world, it's time to set his sights on the
heavens. Either that, or he understands more about elections than anyone
might credit him for knowing.

It's true, it's true.  I'm a military historian, and Kumani is always
trying to stuff herself behind my chart of Luftwaffe squadrons.

No Kumani, you can't have England for Christmas.

You are absolutely correct to be worried about the push pins; he could
swallow one and do serious damage to himself.

Shame on you, Joyce. Licky's not being destructive. He's making a political
statement. It's up to you to figure it out. Maybe the Southern US and Canada
are the projected new provinces for the People's Republic of Licky.

I think Licky is figuring out where the mothership will land when the
whole fleet finally gets here and starts the planned world domination. I
think those kitties that are here are actually just the advanced team.

What does it mean, then, that he has completely destroyed the map since
my last post? It is now in several pieces, and resides in the paper
recycle bin. I don't think the alien invaders will find much to dominate
by the time they get here!

Licky conquers the world! I think he has completed the training
part of his mission and the mothership will send further
instructions.
