GaDragonfly - 13 Sep 2007 06:17 GMT ....to begin thinking about compiling the rpca holiday card list. Is everyone up for doing cards again this year? I don't see any reason I can't put the list together. I don't have anything major planned that would prevent my participation. If someone else feels strongly about doing it I can pass it along as well. It's the group's holiday tradition, we should all have a vote in what we do.

I think I won't be able to participate this year. I'm off sick again because of my hand, and I will probably not have my operation this year, so it will get much worse before it gets better. And I still don't have a printer, so would have to address the cards by hand. It's been hard enough in previous years; I don't think I can make it this year. Hopefully next year.

I don't really care if I get one one back, and besides, those on the 'receive only' part of the list should know that whilst they don't have to send out cards for December 25th or thereabouts, that doens't stop them (although they are still under no obligation) to send out cards to the listmembers a few at a time throughout the year.
So, count me in again. Details haven't changed, except we now have pet fish as well.

How big is your tank(s), filtration, etc? its a '2 foot' tank (so 2' x 1' x 1.5' approx) in a custom made wood cabinet. I didn't make it the cabinet though (not that clever with my hands) the guy I bought it from did. Poor bloke, he used to breed tropical fish for a hobby and had fish tanks all over ht eplace, but he's had a few 'life' problems and no longer has time to look after the fish or the tanks. So for the measly sum of $150 + an extra $20 for his fish, I got the tank, all the accessories, plus the water & fish. Great!
So, what sort of fish? Tropicals. I have 6 cardinal neons, a bristlenose, a black neon, 3 zebra danios, 2 cherry barbs, and 4 other types of of tropical fish of the tetra / danio type that I have yet to identify. They are a pair of one type, with red noses and black spotty tails, a fish that looks like a neon but has a glowing orange stripe down each side rather than the blue, and one that I *think* was called a 'moonshine' danio - its sort of pearly colourled with a hint an orange stripe and blue peraly hue on its sides, and it hangs around with the danios rather than the tetras).
It also has a number of plants - of which I don't know the names of, they merely came as a 'mixed bunch' from the shop.
Filtration is of the type that sits above the tank, water is sucked up, forced through carbon filled filter and cascades back down.
Came with a proper glow light rather than a standard neon tube, too. have had it for 2 weeks with no fishy deaths, touch wood, so I think its going OK so far. I'm slowly training the Yowlet to look but not touch.

I really wish he into "kitty tv" but I guess all the birdies in the backyard make better 'kitty tv' than mere fishies :-)
P.S I have identified more fish. Of the unidentified four upthread, there's 1 pearl danio and 2 rummynosed tetras and still have 1 'mystery fish' that is like a neon tetra but has an orange neon stripe rather than a blue neon stripe down the middle. I'm assuming its some sort of tetra, but don't have enough time to trip through all the fish photos in google to work it out.

In general, a newer version of Word can read a file created by an older version, but not necessarily the other way around.

The kitty situation is different from last year, though. I'm still "unsupervised" (*I'm* ready, the time just hasn't been right)
