Mother - a final goodbye

Hello Everyone,

I am sending group mail family and friends to let everyone know that my
mother passed away last night, and I am including this NG plus h+b among my
friends. I had been with her until about half an hour before she died. She
was very weak and could barely speak, but I called my sister from her room
and Mother’s last words to the two of us were, "I love you." I will treasure
the fact that we had those last moments together and the memory of those
final words.

I don’t think we are ever really prepared to say "goodbye" to someone we
love, but this really was a blessing for Mother. She was 91 years old and
had been essentially bedridden for more than five years. She died peacefully
and did not have to endure the ordeal of still another visit to the
emergency room. She was very, very tired at the end, but she was not in
pain. I think she was ready to die, and she died at peace.

Mother was a special person, and everyone who knew her loved her.  She
taught first grade for 32 years and left such an imprint on many of her
young students that she even received wedding invitations and college
graduation invitations from some of them many years later.

Lots of purrs. I hope I get the chance to be with my parents when they pass.

I will light a candle too.  Mothers are precious. We only have the one.

I'm very sorry for your loss, but she did have a long good life by the
sounds of it, and she passed peacefully, which is the best anyone can
ask for. The cats are sending soothing, comforting purrs to you and your
sister.

Mary,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you are feeling
right now and while it takes a long time to recover from the loss of
your mother one day you will have the happier memories that replace
the current pain.  I will light a candle in your mother's memory and
my furry ones send you purrs and gentle headbutts.

I could barely read this for the tears. My thoughts are with you as
are the purrs of all my little friends and the gentle tail-wag of
Bear.

I was much too young, sixty, when my mother left us and it is very
fortunate that she left her/our cat WooToo with instructions to take
care of me. Let your aching heart find comfort in the wonder of your
mother's long and accomplished llife.

Purrs and prayers alike, in this time of remembrance. Your Mom sounds like
one heck of a lady; everyone's last words should speak love.

Blessed be,

Deep condolences, & blanket purrs, & head buts, tinged with sadness,
yet a celebration of her accomplished life. She made you, & if that is
anything to go by, she did a wonderful job as a mother. We only ever
get one. I am so pleased to hear that her last words were a
declaration of love, to you. Weep if the need takes you, but in time
you will be able to remember the good times far more often than the
bad ones.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm especially sorry she was bedridden
for very long.

I'm glad you and your sister were at your mother's side, at the end.
That's so very important.

While everybody's mother is special, your mother had the opportunity to
touch so very many lives, in her special way.

Teachers are some of the very most important people in the world, yet
underpaid, and under appreciated.

I'm glad your mother was appreciated by so many of her students.

Purrs of condolence from me & my boys. However long we have our loved ones
it's never long enough.

My own mother is an ailing 88 and I now expect every phone call to be
bringing bad news.

Purrs again

My condolences on your mother's passing.  She was obviously such a
wonderful person who touched many lives.
