Bastard Cat trick....

I've mentioned Thomasina, my grans black and white tux owner before.
Tonight she played a real bastard cat trick just to keep us on our
toes.....

On a Tuesday, my gran dogsits for her doctors dog, a real pain-in-the-a
$$ jack russell terrorist called maggie. She hates cats and chases
them. In the past she has killed small squirrels and rats. I hate the
dog, but her owner loves her and my gran dogsits her 2 days a week,
but anyway....

Gran has to keep Thomasina away from Maggie because Maggie will chase
her, so she keeps the scullery door closed so that Thomasina can use
the back kitchen stairs instead of the main stairs to go up into my
grans bedroom. (Think big old fashioned 3 storey victorian house).
Today, though, she accidentally left the door open, and about 5pm
Maggie chased Thomasina up the garden as she was too quick for my gran
to grab her and stop her.

At 9pm this evening, I got a call from my gran in floods of tears
because she hadn't been able to find Thomasina and she was worried
because the dog had chased her earlier. Gran had searched everywhere.
So, I jumped into my car and went over to my grans house....... only
to find that the minute I had left the house, Thomasina had pitched up
and was busy scoffing her dinner. She had apparently been asleep
*under* my grans duvet on her bed, snuggled up by a pillow so that
gran couldn't see her making a bump in the bed *ALL* evening!

Personally, I think she was on the Tardis travelling with the Dr. ;o)

I am glad something good happened today.  Locally, we have a 3 year old
boy missing in the Uintah Mountains.  He was on a camping trip with his
mother.  A lady who went to search for him is now missing too.  Can't help
worrying -- there are bears in those mountains.  Please send purrs for
their safe return.   MLB

The 6PM news just reported that a helicopter search and rescue pilot
spotted little Benjamin a mile from the camp.  He was able to direct
searchers to rescue him.  A happy ending.  Night is falling and the
temperature will drop to 20 F tonight.  MLB

That is Mir's facourite hiding place. It took me a while to figure it
out, since she can make herself so small that you really can't see the
slightest bump beside the pillow there, but one time she had disturbed
the covers a little so I could guess that she was there, and now I know
her hiding place. Sometimes Caliban joins her, and the game is up,
because he can definitely not make himself small enough not to be
noticed. :P

Ohh, nice bast**d cat trick, Thomasina gets extra points for that
one.  Your Gran deserves a glass of wine for being the victim.
