Dot's dream

Dot's been sleeping with me more often lately because she's become
more comfortable having free run of Buster's territory.

This morning, I woke up to find her little snoozing head right next to
mine on the pillow, looking so content.  I snuggled close, and she
half opened an eye, splayed out some cute tiny toes, and looked
around.  I thought she had woken up, but her eyes darted randomly, her
whiskers trembled, and her feet pedaled a little.  She was dreaming!

She gave a wonderful performance, as I could see her sailing across
green fields, lithe and free, chasing butterflies into the far
horizon.

I noticed a spot of blood on the sleeve of my pajamas.

"Betty..." I thought.  But this time, the blood was not from cancer,
but from some harmless acne on Dot's chin that she scratched.

Dot's open eye finally focused on me, and finding herself back in this
world with her daddy, she purred and offered her soft tummy to rub.  I
felt a love that I had thought I lost.

Awwww!  That's so sweet!  {{{{{{{{Tak}}}}}}}  And I'm so glad Dot is getting
more comfortable and assertive about sharing Buster's space.

Every day, they ignore each other more and more.  Which in their case
is progress.  Dot sometimes doesn't even seem to mind Buster brushing
past her in the course of his rounds, which used to make her hiss and
punch him in the face. :)

She's still a bit inhibited in front of Buster though.  I know Dot
loves to play, but is half-hearted about it around him, for example.
But things continue to improve, even though at this point we already
have a completely workable kitty household.

Now, for the next miracle, Dot and Buster will become best friends. ;)

So, what was the result of her TED exam?

That's so sweet! I'm really glad that Dot is getting her "sea legs"
and being able to enjoy living with you, and even with Buster (or at
least, not to mind living with Buster). She's turning out to be a
real sweetheart.

Awwww.... it is true that the love of a new cat feels like the love of
an older cat. It is the same kind of love. Honest. Selfless. Unconditional.

We all know cats aren't 100% mortal, stuck in these three (or for)
dimensions. Whilst Dot's love for you is 100% Dot's I wouldn't be surprised
if Betty is also sending her love through Dot as well.

I'm so happy for you, Tak!

Last night, I was watching TV and Caliban was asleep on my lap. Or
rather, he was stretched out over my legs and draped over my arm (which
was asleep from holding him in that position ;). Suddenly his legs
started twitching and then his whisker pads. Next came a long half-wail,
half-growl. Poor boy seemed to be having a nightmare, so I gently
stroked his exposed tummy, and he soon relaxed and started purring instead.

That's a Calvin and Hobbes picture right there:
"That sigh should get me out of a few years of purgatory."

:)

Remember the one where Calvin is all frazzled and he comes upon Hobbes
sleeping, tummy exposed, on the floor. Calvin buries his face in Hobbes'
tummy fur, then walks away looking happy and refreshed saying something
like 'Fuzz therapy.'

(Sigh)  Bless you both.  And that little squirt Buster, too. ;)
