OMG. I just got a note from my daughter telling me that her nurse
manager is coming to look at the orphan
bitties this morning.

This is *better* than any potential adoptor I ever dreamed of. She
would be as good a slave as any of *us*!
I don't think there's a kinder, or more compassionate woman on this
planet, from all that I have heard
of her, and the times that I met her.

Keep your fingers crossed. I told my daughter to lecture them about
how to act. :-) As you know, they
are over three months old now and their chances are getting slimmer as
they grow up. And the chances
of them going to a home together even slimmer.

Purrs, prayers and everything crossed here for her to fall in love
with them at once! Then again they are so very lovely that as long as
they behave themselves they should do well

Lots of purrs on the way, I'm sure she'll fall in love as soon as she sees
them.

Well, she only took Sissy. Coincidentally, another nurse decided to
take Bubby. She won't pick him up until Thursday.

I'm really glad they both got really good homes, and even homes with
other nurses she works with every day, so we
won't lose track of them.

I just really wish they could have gone together. She said when the
first lady was standing there with Sissy in the carrier about to
leave, Bubby jumped up on it and hung off of the door. :-(

I guess the consolation is they we were really lucky to get good
people to take them, even if it was separately.

I"m not raising any more orphan kittens. :-(

Well they did get good homes. It's really too bad they didn't go
together. No having to integrate and all. I feel for you Sherry.

Aww, Sherry. You did such a good job. {{{Sherry}}} Glad they got good
homes. I remember how cruel I felt to take Miranda away from her brother
and mother, though Kira had started to hiss at her kittens at that time.
I'm sure Sissy and Bubby will soon have forgotten each other in their
new homes.

You did so much work raising them, you must have been very attached to
them.  I'm glad they finally found homes, although it would have been
nice if they went home together.  I would definitely have taken both.
I think this is my favorite picture of them:

I *was* attached to them. It was really sad when they left. But at the
same time, I'm so
glad they're getting such good homes. I got an e-mail from Sissy's new
owner, who talked
endlessly about how affectionate she was and how she sleeps in the
crook of her neck all night.
That made me feel a *lot* better. She's going to be a very pampered
kitty. Pretty good for
the little lifeless lump of meat that she was when I first saw her. I
wish I had a photo of how
tiny they were when I first got them, they both fit in my hand. But I
wouldn't take any pictures
because I honestly thought I'd wake up any morning that first week and
find them dead.
Bubby's new owner is an 11 year old girl with no other cats in the
home. I think he'll be very
well taken care of too.

I'm so sorry they went to separate homes, but at least they are really
good homes. It's awfully hard raising orphan kitties, but you've done an
excellent job, Sherry.
Lots of hugs,
