Cinnamon loves to scratch on our flip flops that are on the back porch. I have to put them up off the floor. Today on my way home I stopped at the dollar store and bought her a pair of her own. Has she started scratching on them? LOL, you might have to wear the new ones, and give her your old ones - it could be the smell she likes! Joyce I've only been home about a hour. I hope I don't have to wear them because they are kids size. I might take them out and rub them around in the dirt and grass. BUT I don't spoil my cats. ( Ya, right) We all do. I sometimes have to shoo her away from important papers. I keep a paper bag on the dining room floor for her to bite, and mostly she's happy with that. We have 8 resident felines, and out of the 8, only 1 (Miss Marley Ann) refuses to scratch on the cat tree. She much prefers the vacuum cleaner hose, shoes, and I have even witnessed her scratching on bicycle tires out in the garage. Not sure what her trip is. -bonbon Cinnamon will use her scratching post but for some reason she also likes the flip flops. Aww, what a good cat slave you are! But I suspect she wants them to smell of you. Has she used them yet? SignatureMarina, Miranda and Caliban. In loving memory of Frank and Nikki. I have some hook-together floor mats (alphabet tiles for kids to play with) that are made of the same material as flip-flops. All my cats use them as scratching posts, to the extent that all the letters and bits got separated from the original holes. I think they must like the way it pulls against their claws. I no longer have a child who is young enough to play with them, but every once in a while I'll buy a new one or two for the cats! Before, when I lived in a no-uncaged-pet apartment, I had some of these and my caged rabbit got ahold of one edge and started chewing. The next morning he had managed to pull the tile close to his cage and one whole tile had been nibbled all around the edge. Now Biffy loves shoes of any kind. big, small, leather, flip flops, or even smelly trainers even. He looks around to see who is watching, then the fun begins, lol He strokes them, then he nuzzles them, wipes his whisker glands, throws them in the air, bunny kicks them, & finally does the Biffy flip, & rolls over them all. Once this is done, he chooses his favourite pair, then carries them to his little corner & uses them as pillows....
