Ceridwen went to the Bridge at about 5 pm tonight. The vet tried all
day to stabilize her electrolytes, and just could not. She told me
that Dwen's kidney's were probably damaged by a virus, possibly a
while ago, and when she came down with an URI that virus pushed her
kidney's over into failure. :( The vet told me that I could take her
to Cornell's Vet school, and they might be able to stabilize her, but
the trip there (1 1/2 hours) would be very stressful for Dwen and
could push her over into heart failure. So, I held her close and let
her go.
I will miss her laying beside me in my recliner, kneading me with all
4 paws, her silly head nod and tilt when I asked her if I could sit
with her; tickling her toes and making her dance, playing get the
white toes - she was black with a white locket and bikini patch, and
white toes on one foot.
I will see if I can find some photos of her to post on my website, and
I send the link on when I do.

She knows you love her and you did the right thing. Her trip to the
bridge, or whatever unknown adventure awaits her, will be pain-free
and only marred by missing you. You will see her again, some way.

I'm so sorry, Mishi. It's so hard to say goodbye to them! Naturally,
you will miss her. But you gave her a happy, loving home for many
years, and that's the thing to remember.
And when a suitable period of mourning has past, remember, there's a
world of cats there to be loved and who need our help. Ceridwen can
never be replaced, but she can have worthy successors. Life's too
short to live without our dear friends.
