Shmoggleberry, the at least 17 year old, cranky, geriatric cat, who sleeps
23.5 hours and then needs a rest, just dropped at my feet:

A still warm, but thankfully dead, little grey mouse!

I didn't think he still had it in him! And he said "mows, mows!" just before
he did so, too!

I don't think I could be more surprised by Shmogg if I tried!.

Not wanting the Yowlet to see the deceased mousie (or worse, try to play
with said thing), Fluff successfully distracted Shmogg for the quick moment
I scopped out said mousie in a plastic shopping bag and disposed of the poor
critter thoughtfully.

I praised him and told him he was a very clever cat, but I think he was a
tad distracted by his trophy.  Its been half an hour since I disposed of his
'mark' and Shmog is *still* looking for it!

Three cheers for geriatric cats!

If you're paddling upstream in a canoe and a wheel falls off, how many
pancakes can you fit in a doghouse? None, icecream doesn't have bones.

Shmogg......you're the man.

When we were living in Nevada last year, a mouse found it's way into
our house.  No doubt looking for a warm spot to sleep or some tasty
treats to eat, however with 8 resident felines, that poor little
bugger didn't stand a chance.  We found the carnage when we woke up in
the morning, and I'm guessing the little guy died of a heart attack,
as there were no apparent wounds present on his stiff little mouse
body.  The cat's were still taking turns tossing him up in the air and
jumping to catch him before he hit ground.  After that episode, I
started putting a plate of goodies (peanuts, corn chips, marshmallows,
etc.) outside where I think the little mouse entered the house, to
keep any of his buddies from making the same deadly mistake of coming
inside.

Oh that doesn't have to do with age.  Stinky would do that when he was in
his chest-thumping prime.  It was so cute.

They rock, indeed.

I believe that was a deliberate heart stopping start to the post, shame on
you, Vicky. Three chears for Shmogg, may he have many years left.

Oh, I see what you mean, Adrian, now I re-read the post.  I hadn't noticed
it maybe because I "speed-read."  It's a technique I learned years ago to
help with a high workload, it involves scanning text very quickly to digest
the "bare bones of it" as it were.

gives you an idea about what it is.

who still can't believe her elderly, toothless Internet baby got a mouse
a couple of years back.
