This sorta started on the Catslaves yahoo group. I said that if I
can't come back as a well pampered kitty cat, I want to the following
for my next life:
Able to eat anything and not get fat,
smart,
able to sing,
good looking.
If you couldn't come back as a pampered house cat in your next life
(assume you believe in re-incarnation if you don't actually believe in
it) what would be on your wish list.
Pam S. who'd add with a lot of good common sense to that list

To be born far enough in the future that you can exchange your body for a
newer model as soon as it starts to wear out! ;>

I hate to sound corny but I would be more than happy to come back as me. I
like being me more than I would like being anyone else. For all the good
things and bad things that have happened in my life I would not trade it
for any other.

Wow, Andy, that's really cool. I'd change lots of things. I wouldn't
trade my "life", or
the family and friends in it, but hey! I'd be tall. I'd be musically
gifted and a dancer.
I"d have flaming red hair. (well, I guess I can have the flaming red
hair NOW, but
there's the roots to deal with...)
Just so I don't sound so shallow, I'll also throw in...I'd be more
spiritual and less stubborn.

I think I'd like to stay in the family - perhaps of the Yowlet's pets? The
way he's going he will have a large menagerie of every animal under the sun.
Except maybe for spiders. He doesn't like spiders - he takes after his
parents in that regard :-)
Cary needs to learn he can't run up to strange animals and love on them
straight away (I *try* to teach him, I"m not that irresponsible), thankfully
no animal he has done that to has showed the slightest fear or agression.
Except for Shmogg. Shmogg 'nips' him quite regularly, causing the end of hte
world (according to Cary), but it doesn't last long - within an hour he's
back trying to pat Shmogg and love on him. Wish Shmogg wasn't so old and
cranky :-(. But at least there's Fluffy. Fluff is the most patient dog in
the world and will put up with a 3 year old's demonstrations of affection,
including being smeared with vegemite (must be heaven for a dog) and
attempts at riding her like a pony (she just sits down as soon as he tried,
and then licks him). Those two are thick as theives, and since it looks liek
Cary is going to be an only child, Fluff makes a great 'older sisfur'.
So, a Yowlet pet looks like a very good deal to me :-)

Sorry for all the piggybacking - this is the first I've seen of this
thread.
I'd like to be able to eat anything I want with no negative effects on
my health. Ditto on being a lazy slob who doesn't exercise. :) I don't
care so much about being fat as long as I'm healthy.
I would absolutely *love* to have a gorgeous singing voice. I have a
decent singing voice, but I'd love to be able to blow people away with
my singing. I have much room for improvement on my technique, and I've
had some voice lessons recently toward that end. But no matter how
much better I get, I'm probably never going to move audiences to tears.
Mostly that's OK with me, but if I got to choose wishes, that would
definitely be one of them.
Good looking - a blessing and a curse, is how I see it. If I were
beautiful, doors would open for me, no doubt about that. We live in a
culture that worships beauty, and you can get attention more easily
if you're attractive. On the other hand, I could take a pass on a lot
of that attention. Do I really want a bunch of creeps slobbering over
me? Eww.
Actually, I'd like to come back as a crazy cat lady who's rich enough
to support my habit in a way that is comfortable for all concerned. :)
And with absolutely no allergies to cat dander. I do have a mild cat
allergy, actually. It's not an issue with 3 cats, but if I had a
houseful, that would be a problem.

My worry is if I changed something I might end up being someone else. I
would not even want to fix the mistakes for the same reason. I guess
this wasn't really the question but strangely it is something I have
thought about. I guess it is all those sci-fi books I have read.

I have to agree. I've had a pretty great life so far (mind you, it's
far from over!) but I can't think of too much to change. Perhaps being
able to sing would be really great. My voice is like fingernails on a
chalkboard...

I'd like to come back as the human who pampers the housecat... oh, wait.
I am that already. :)
But seriously, I'd like to come back without the gene that gave me type
I diabetes at age 5. Otherwise, I'm good. Though I doubt I'd have
developed this flippant attitude to life if I hadn't had it.

I used to say I was going to come back next time as a male car mechanic,
much like Dallas, the one I used to have who retired (okay, so he was
*really* cute and nice with baby blue eyes -- lol). I'd never have to
deal with PMS and catcalls and all those fun things, because I'd be a
guy (not that I'm not happy being female! I am!); I'd never wonder what
I wanted to do for a living because I'd always know; I'd be good at it;
I could fix my own car (and not be afraid of driving!); I could help
people in a very practical way and get paid for it; and I could make a
good living at it, enough to retire before I was 60.
Hmm, even though there are lots of other things I could imagine being
next time around, that *still* sounds pretty good to me!
