I'm just catching up, I'm gone for 3 days and y'all post over 600
messages! Anyhow, thanks for all those who have offered to help with
Bridget's plane ticket, I'm happy to announce we have enough money to
buy it. I just emailed her asking to confirm the dates, as soon as she
does, I'll purchase the ticket. :)
Thanks again everybody, I truly believe that what goes around, comes
around, so ya'll have a whole lot of good karma coming your way!

That's wonderful news, Victor. I didn't contribute money, but I will
contribute purrs and best wishes for a non-eventful journey. So glad
Bridget will be able to go to her sister.

I know I didn't contribute, but please et us know if any more is needed -
I'm sure that there will be other expenses (rental car, maybe????), and I'll
happily contribute.

I got the e-ticket.  I think my niece is more excited than my sister is.
Pretty cool since she has only seen me a few times in her short life.
Someone mentioned a rental car - not necessary.  I will have the use
of my sister's vehicle while I'm there and I don't really have any place
to go besides her house.

Besides, I am so thankful for the plane ticket I don't know what to do.
I am just looking at it this morning kind of unbelieving.  Thank you
everyone who contributed to the plane ticket.  I really appreciate it.
Thank you Victor for organizing it.

With absolute love,
Bridget

Victor, your the man!

I received an e-mail from Bridget, wherein she accepted my offer to
pick her up at the Houston airport and drive her to her sisters place,
so it looks as if everything is just about in order.

Hey Victor and CatNipped, you know that upcoming, but unscheduled as
yet r.p.c.a.'ers Houston get together idea we've been tossing around?
Are y'all thinking what I'm thinking?

That would just be the icing on the cake for my trip if something like
that happened.  My ticket is for me to leave Indiana on the 20th of
November and come back on the 1st of December.  I am slated to cook
Thanksgiving dinner, so as long as it doesn't interfere with that, I
would love it.

I will be emailing you Bonnie to let you know about dates and times more
specific to my flight.

Bridget,
I'm in Texas, but quite a way from Houston.  I hope you or someone will let
me know if you decide on a date. Maybe I'll be able to get there.

Um.....it would seem my service provider did that for me. Great.  I
wonder how much other mail I have floating around out there in cyber
space?

Could you please re-sending it? I'm Lof8-at-houston-dot-rr-dot-com

I would love to, but it's going to be hard for me. We just returned from
a trip and we're going to be most of Thanksgiving week out of town. Plus
my project at work is reaching a critical point, I'm not sure if I could
take off... there's always the weekend though... let's talk it over. How
about the weekend after turkey day?

That would be perfect for DH and me!  We have a huge house and lots of toys
for both grown-ups and kids.  I'd like to invite Bonbon and spouse (and any
kids??), Victor and Tom, Bridget, Bridget's sister, and Bridget's sister's
family to come over and hang out.  Anyone else in the Houston area at the
time - Annie & family??

Remeber to bring your swim suits so you can go hot-tubbing (it's great
relaxation after the hectic holidays and/or a long drive).  How is 6-ish?
We can have a pot-luck dinner of left-overs and snacks.  We have lots of
board games, DVDs (and DH's second love after me, a 63" TV), etc. but if you
have any favorites feel free to bring them.

Victor, if you and Tom need a place to stay the night, we have plenty of
room, and you're very welcome - Annie, you and your family are too.

Anyone who is interested, email me for my addy and phone numbers - lcrews
(at) houston (dot) rr (dot) com.

Hugs,

CatNipped

It sounds like a great time.  We used to have game nights with board games,
but haven't had one for a long time.
That weekend might work, but we will have our boat in a boat parade the next
weekend, and I don't know how the decorating will go. It's likely I'll still
be working full-time and not around a lot during weekdays to help Jim
decorate it.
The boat parade is part of the Toys for Tots campaign.  Our neighborhood is
on a system of canals.  Some people have parties, and the admission to the
party is a toy.  Designated boats go to the decks and yards where the people
have the toys ready to take onboard and then deliver to a couple of bigger
boats.
We did it last year (our first year) and our parade collected 3,800 toys.
The next morning it took us nearly an hour to unload the toys and hand them
along a line of people from the dock to the parking lot.
Lots of work, but lots of fun, too.

I just realized we won't be able to make it. We don't return from our

Annie and Victor - we can certainly do it again when you can make it if you
can't do it that Saturday- it's not an all or nothing deal.  Bridget and
Bonbon, we can still do the Saturday after Thanksgiving to meet while
Bridget is in town, and then Bonbon you can come over again when Victor
and/or Annie can make it (from what I understand you're practically around
the corner from me).  Any or all of you are welcome any time you're in the
neighborhood.

Thanks CatNipped.  That's very generous.  We're just off of Fry and
Greenhouse Rd.  I'll bring our digital camera and we can post pics as
we take them.

How does a big homemade turkey pot pie sound?  I'll also bring
dessert.  (for the record......when it comes to meat, I'm terribly
picky about unidentifiable's, squishy, or squiggly, so my pot pies are
_clean_) :)

Let me know.

OK, you're a lot farther west than I thought - we're just north of FM 1960
and about 2 miles east of I-45 North.  (DH and I used to live right off of
Fry Road and I-10 (Katy Freeway) - the exit just east of Mason Road.)  For
others benefit, Houston is a *very* sprawled out city.  Living in Houston is
a lot like living in L.A. - anywhere you want to go is a loooooong commute
with loooooots of traffic!!  ;>

Turkey pot pie sounds delicious!  Give me a call beforehand and we can
coordinate.

My in-laws live north of 1960, between Stuebner Airline and Kuykendal.

Yep, that's still a bit west of us, but lots closer than Bonbon.  Next time
you're visiting the in-laws you and Tom are very welcome to drop by and hang
out, hot-tub, whatever!  If you still have our addy, look us both up on
Yahoo! maps (http://maps.yahoo.com/).

Thanks for the invitation.  I'd really like to be able to meet Bridget, as
well as the rest of you.
If I don't get up there, please consider me there in spirit, anyway.

The weekend after sounds good to me.  My sister is certain to have to be
working, so I will just be at her apartment sitting around.  And, that
would be enough time, that I would probably think a break from my sister
would be a good idea for a bit.  I love her to death, but, as in all
family members, a little distance is a good idea. Oh Man, I can't wait
to see her!

Bridget - who thinks a 'we met' party in Houston sounds like a GRAND idea

safe and good trip.
