Kayla it would seem wants to be a cat. Now she is a perfectly good dog, but
she can see that the cats have their privileges. I mean no one ever opens
the door just to let her back in. They certainly never come outside and
carry her in. And as far as she can tell they don't sleep in crates. They
might, oh heaven actually sleep with Mom. Plus they get to go 'out front'
on their own whenever they please, are given treats merely for coming
inside, are able to catch and kill smelly things, etc.
Her first major step in applying to be a honorary cat was taken yesterday.
She watched Molly's show of stealing catnip from the pot in the cage. Then
she walked over, got hold of a good sized stem, pulled it off and ate the
whole thing.
I didn't notice any odd behavior, but she can upset the whole thing for
Molly if she decides to. That might well have been what Molly was trying to
ask her to do.

Today she took the next steps. We went to the park for Kayla's run. Now
granted we hadn't been for a week. I've been feeling out of sorts. But she
always runs like crazy at the park.
Especially if we can draft a young boy or girl to throw her ball for her.
And she always brings it back to go again.
Today she didn't want to run, didn't want to bring the ball back, only
chased it a few times for the kid we drafted, and pretty much wanted to lay
down on top of her ball in the shade.
Totally cat behavior.
