Thanks for all the purrs folks, they seem to be working. We had to
return to the vet at 1am this morning because Cara had got worse again
during the night with laboured breathing and being unable to stand up.
The vet said that it was because the pain relief had worn off and she
was becoming uncomfortable again, so she gave her some more medication
and we came home. Her temperature has dropped to within the normal
range for a dog, so the fever is gone, thank goodnes.

This morning we went back for assessment and blood tests and we're
awaiting the results. I have another appointment to disucss them first
thing with the vet tomorrow morning. She's had some more antibiotic
injections and another pain killer and she's also eaten her lunch. But
then I would eat my lunch too if I got best organic fresh boiled
chicken and rice!!

Cara is a star. She has been poked and proded to within an inch of her
life when she was clearly very uncomfortable and sore, she's been
stuck with needles in her bum, in her scruff and had blood taken from
her leg, and the most she has done to complain is whine quickly and
then quickly lick the vet tech to let her know the treatment hurts.

The vet has declined to give a full prognosis until she has the full
results of the blood tests, but has been agressively treating with
antibiotics, anti inflamatory and pain relief, and Cara is certainly
much brighter. Personally, I think what has done it is purrs from all
over the world, and 2 nurse kitties (Lily and HRFL) washing Cara's
face on a regular basis. They know she feels unwell and are trying to
make it better. Miss Lily Whiskers keeps curling up on Cara in her bed
and purring at her.

Please keep the purrs coming & thanks. :)

Awwww.... such good nurse kitties! We'll keep purring until she makes a
complete recovery. :)

We are all purring, some of us more capably than others, for her
recovery while watching the work of the nurse kitties with admiration.
The bond between your cats and your fairly new d*g is amazingly
strong, I think. Bear always says "RUFF" but what he means is "I wuv
my cat friends." She's such a good patient too, an example to us all.

Of course the purrs will continue until Cara is well!

Poor baby, what an ordeal.  What good friends Lily and HRFL are.  Continued
purrs for a quick recovery.

There aren't too many doggies who rate their very own on board nurse cat.
We are definitely working on the positives here.

Vigorous purrs from my crew! I'm late coming into this thread because
I was out of town for 4 days. I sure hope whatever it is can be treated
easily and quickly. Cara sounds like a wonderful dog and she deserves
to have a long and happy life.

Please keep us updated!
