CatNipped - 11 Aug 2007 19:06 GMT We got the cats a new cat tree today at PetsMart. Here's some video of them when we put some catnip on it to make it more appealing to scratch (Da Boyz currently use our living room furniture for sharpening claws).
Adrian, this is a HUGE file, 38Mg, so let me know how long it takes to download. I checked out my MPeg Maker software and it doesn't have a setting to up the compression! :<

Jessie certainly did lay fast claim to her perch didn't she?

CatNipped - 11 Aug 2007 20:27 GMT >>We got the cats a new cat tree today at PetsMart. Here's some video of >>them [quoted text clipped - 12 lines] > > -bonbon She jumped on top of it as soon as Ben brought it up the stairs - she didn't even wait until he finished bringing it across the great room! She didn't even need the catnip incentive - she *LURVES* high places (she's our little refrigerator cat). Sammy, on the other hand hates high places - she jumped up to the first perch and got scared and hurried up to jump down again (granted, as much as she weighs, it takes a lot out of her legs and paws when she has to jump down from any height - you can hear the UMPH from across the room! ;>).
Da Boyz love it too - Archer has fallen off of it twice already (he's a bit of a klutz).
Tell me, do Da Boyz look big to you for being only a little over three months old? It's hard for me to judge, having lived with Samazon for so long! ;>

You saw their pics I just put up on webshots, right? That's a really nice tree. And Big Sister Sammy acts like she really likes her new little brothers.

Ozzy and Archer (Da Boyz) just went to the vet for their last boosters and to get some antibiotics for their URIs and intestinal troubles, as well as being wormed. They started out at exactly the same weight. Now, at 3 months, Archer weighs 4 pounds and Ozzy weighs 4.25 pounds (I think it was because Archer had a much worse case of URI than Ozzy did - he was the one who was coughing all the time as well as sneezing).
But what really amazes me is that they put away *SO* much food and it never shows in their bellies. They eat half a (3 oz.) can each morning and again at night. But when I let them out of their room (they get closed in so they'll eat their kitten food (Nutro Max), because they like the big cats' food better), they'll run around to everyone elses' dish and eat every scrap that has been left (the 3 adults share 2 (3 oz) cans among themselves each morning and again at night). *Then* they go around and scrounge all the adults' dry food (they won't touch their kitten formula dry food). But in spite of all this they are so long and skinny they look like I'm starving them. I'm thinking about upping their food to 1 (3 oz) can each morning and night.
I can't decide if they need more food, or if this is just their body types and they'll always look long and skinny no matter what they eat. Despite their coloring, I really think they must have a lot of Abyssinian in them, like these:
http://www.abytopia.com/catography.htm
They have the same *HUGE* ears - 5 times too big for their little heads - the same small, very triangular faces, the long, long skinny tail, and the long, skinny torso.

I suspect they'll grow into them, and into the rest of their bodies. Among the cats here that were quite skinny as kittens, remember, were Caliban, Dante, Scout, and Silver. :)

Whether they grow into their ears, or end up looking like adult Abyssinians, I'll always think they're the most handsome boy cats ever created!

Exocat - 11 Aug 2007 22:13 GMT > We got the cats a new cat tree today at PetsMart. Here's some video XLNT! That's what I call Entertainment. And how thoughtful of you to place it next to Kitty TV. How lovely to see the Samazon so playful, too.

Thought you'd like to know even though I'm not Adrian :)

That tree outside the window is a favorite of the squirrels - it's on their aerial path to the roof of my house on to the trees in the back yard.
Samazon loves her a little afternoon delight! ;>

I hope eventually we'll get ADSL2+, that should be about 3 times faster.
Great video by the way, I've saved it to watch again.

> Great video by the way, I've saved it to watch again. Well, Cecile B. DeMille I'm *NOT*!! And I cringe every time I hear my N'Awlins accent (think Brooklyn - which is strange since N.O. is in the deepest south, but people say the accent is identical for some reason).

No, they aren't identical, or even similar, but there are odd words here and there that are pronounced the same. Theresa
