It was a good sleep

I'm prone to strange dreams straight out of a JEM inspired night
mare.  But not last night.

As usual I read until I was relaxed enough to try to sleep.
While reading I noticed that Huey was snuggled up against my hind
end.  Wonderful!  I scritched him.  He stretched and purred.  I
scritched some more.  He purred some more.  I kept reading.  When
I finally closed the book for the night I realized that I'd been
scritching a purring Huey the whole time.  I went to sleep
smiling and slept dreamlessly for the whole night, waking only to
use the bathroom.  Huey slept most of the night beside me, even
though I'd had gas inducing food for diner.  It was a good sleep
for us both.

Glad for you. Huey's making sure you awake alert and refreshed for the
important things you have to do when you wake (cleaning the box,
fetching food, skritchie providing etc)

I have a very hard time getting to sleep.  I often find valerian root
capsules or a cup of valeriana tea (or even chamomile) before bedtime helps.
A purring cat *always* helps unless she's crawling all over you or using you
as a spring-board just as you doze off! OUCH!!!  Another thing which is very
soothing is to spray the sheets and pillowcases with a lavender spritz or
add some to the wash water.  The scent is very soothing.  Persia loves it :)

How lovely!  For some reason, both my cats have deserted my bed for the past
couple of weeks.  The way it was before, Lindy would spend the entire night
on the bed.  She'd start out curled up at the foot of the bed, but at some
point I'd wake up, and she'd be snuggled up against the back of my legs.
Nanki-Poo would spend part of the night on the bed, sleeping on top of me
some of the time, and cuddled up against my front for the rest of the time.
Suddenly, Nanki-Poo stopped coming on the bed altogether.  Lindy will
sometimes come up for a minute of petting, but then she gets down.  After
several days of this, I even sprayed the bedspread with Feliway, but that
didn't help.  I wish I knew what brought on the change.  I miss my kitties!
