As I was sitting here, Rhia started her teeth-chattering attack sound.
Usually this is when she can see a bird outside on the telephone or
power wires that she feels she ought to attack; since both my girls are
indoor cats the birds are quite safe. This time I couldn't see anything
at first until I bent down to look up out of the window and saw that
the object of her planned attack was a large red hot air balloon
floating overhead! Perhaps just a mite too ambitious, even if she is
big for a meezer.

This was your signal to leap up and grab the balloon-greebling so that
the Princesses could play with it.

Quite the brave girl I must say.  Poor Kayla freaks out at any overhead
stuff like party balloons or large birds.  I chalk it up to avoiding birds
of prey.  I don't know what she would do if she saw a hot air balloon.

I've heard of one pet, not sure if it was a dog or cat but dog would make
more sense that was so traumatized by seeing something like that in the sky
it refused to go outside again.

Mike's cat, Berfert (RB), was so traumatized by seeing a bird
commit suicide by sliding glass door that he refused to go into
the kitchen for over six weeks.  We had to move his food and
water dishes into our bedroom and change the litter box in the
laundry room with the smaller one in our bathroom to accommodate
him.  Poor kit was totally paranoid that something would fall out
of the sky in front of him.

My kitten once looked up as if she were going to attack a jet flying
overhead. I told her no, that was a bit too far to jump....

LOLOL  Persia has never been that ambitious!  What a funny image you put in
my head! <G>
