When I head downstairs to bed each night, Ozzy and Archer follow me down -
they know it's play time with the big cat (and also time to finish up any
supper Sammy may have left in her dishes).

Sammy has finally started trying to catch the krazy kittens instead of just
acting like a bumper post to their bumper cars.  My bed is pretty high (one
of those "California Kings" with an extra mattress pad), so I don't always
get to see the action on the floor unless it comes over to my side of the
bed.  So first I hear them - two kittens stampeding
(tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap), then I (sort of)
see them - two streaks of orange stripey blur.  Then I hear Sammy chasing
after them (THUMPA, ...THUMPA, ...THUMPA, ...THUMPA, ...THUMPA), then I see
her, miles behind and a dollar short, clumping after the two streaks of
orange stripey blur.

Sometimes, however, Sammy will lie in wait for them at the foot of my bed,
peering under the bed skirt watching for tiny orange paws.  First I hear
them -  two kittens stampeding
(tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap), then I (sort of)
see them - two streaks of orange stripey blur.  They round the corner of the
bed at lightspeed on two paws and are suddenly confronted with (to them) a
mountain made of cat!  Then, when I look towards the bottom of my bed (I
can't see anyone on the floor from that angle), I see two kittens popping
straight up into the air about 2 feet higher than the bed itself.  Then I
imagine them landing, squealing their brakes, doing a 180, and rushing off
in the opposite direction with Sammy in (not-so-hot) pursuit!.

For over an hour I am entertained with the sight of kittens popping straight
up into the air all around my bed (I can just imagine them playing on a tiny
kitten trampoline!).  I fall asleep chuckling every night!

Sounds adorable... and like Sammy is definitely feeling better!
