I'm sorry to have to say that my friend had to have his cat Reynolds put to sleep today. He was in advanced renal failure and was really suffering. My friend spent some time with him beforehand and was able to say goodbye. This evening, a few of us got together and hung out for a few hours, sometimes reminiscing about Reynolds, and sometimes just talking about other stuff. I think my friend feels like he made the right decision. Ren was in the vet hospital for almost 4 days, getting fluids and having his system flushed out, and also getting other treatment, but he didn't respond to any of it. The illness had progressed too far. Thank you all for your purrs and good thoughts. I'm sure they helped Reynolds have a peaceful passing. When Hugh lost Bingo he held a wake and sat about talking about the time he did this and that....it was nice because it made us think of the good times even when we were sad.
