I got up very early this morning, while it was still dark. I know my way
around the house so sometimes I don't put the lights on straight away. So I
didn't and stumbled my way into the kitchen to put the kettle on for a cup
of much needed tea.
Then I put the light on <blink, blinded> and there seemed to be feathers
everywhere. Lots on the floor near where the kettle is. I recognised what
they were immediately. Collared dove, Kitty's favourite. She didn't like
the tuna flavoured food I gave her last night.
She always take her prey to eat in front of the kitchen fire, and sure
enough, there was a lot more feathers on the rug there, and a little kitty
tucking into a dove.
Boyfriend was out. He soon came in when he saw the light was on. Well, he
came into the kitchen and sat, waiting for his breakfast. He turned his
head and noticed Kitty eating the dove in front of the fire. If you could
have seen his face! His eyes widened when he noticed, and he then looked
up into my face. I said "What?" He pointed to her again, and looked back
up at me.
He could not have said it more plainly. I'm not allowed to have birdies and
here she is eating one right here in the kitchen!
He stalked out, disgusted.
