Hi all

On one of the other threads, I mentioned seeing a cat outside my house last
Friday who was the spitting image of Oscar the hospice cat and how on Monday
the same cat tried to come into my house and was all over me so noting the
cats name- Rocky and a mobile number on the collar I called and was told
Rocky likes to explore and she doesn't live far away from me so nothing to
worry about

Last night as I was about to get the tube home, I got a call from Rocky's mum
asking me if I'd seen her and I said I had that very morning seen Rocky in
our front garden and she asked me exactly where I lived, turns out Rocky did
not come home last night and when the lady realises exactly where I live she
was worried because it is a bit further than she thought and she's worried
Rocky might try to cross the main road- which is dangerous enough for Hoomins
never mind cats (We hear or see at least one accident a week, usually just
one car going up the back of another but we did have a pedestrian a few years
ago who died in our front garden). Also it turns out they've only just moved
to the area so Rocky may have lost her way

Anyway a bit later as I'm going up the steps to our front door, I notice an
open tin of tuna and a small dish of milk- so I called her to ask if she'd
put it down and she said no (I suspect Esther who is a kind soul) and I said
it had been touched so she says although she has been up and down the road
outside our place an hour or so before, she'll come back because Rocky loves
tuna so if she is about she will go for it,

So I got in and I was telling Dave about it and making myself a coffee when
my mobile went- it was Catherine (Rocky's slave), she ran back to our place
after I called and there was Rocky, head down in the tuna so Catherine was
able to put her in a carrirer and was taking her home where she was going to
be grounded for 4-5 days until she settled down a bit more

I just love happy endings!

You have a great way with a turn of phrase, Lesley. I love "head down
in the tuna". :) Definitely a very clear visual there.

Me, too! Glad Catherine got her master (mistress?) back.

A cat in my neighborhood went missing for several days. It was
particularly alarming because this was an indoor-only cat who had
been let out accidentally. My neighborhood has an email list and
it's very active, so there were quite a few folks out looking for
the kitty (myself included). Anyway, I just got an email this morning
saying that she has been found and is home now, bedraggled but happy
and purring (and eating up a storm).

And yesterday morning someone else had finished the rest of the tuna so I
think some stray cat last night got a real treat

Catherine was the slave, Rocky was the cat-an odd name for a queen I
thought but then again I've got cats with names like Redunzel and
Sarrasine so who I am to say what's odd and what's not?

I just popped to the shops and guess who is sitting on the windowsill
downstairs?

She has a nice new tag on so I gave Catherine a quick call to say "If
you are wondering where Rocky is..."

She seems to like our front garden- beats me why
