I spoke to my friend Gus last night. Apparently he is now the proud
slave of 3 cats. After much discussion with his OH, and Ryan his
business partner, they've decided to keep Splash, Ariel and Marina
together as they are inseprable siblings and it wouldn't be fair to
split them up. It's because his OH, Carmela wants to keep them because
he doesn't really like cats. Alledgedly. ;o)
Personally, knowing Gus like I do, despite him saying "I'll never have
another cat after Sinbad & anyway I don't like cats" it was only a
matter of time before he refused to let them go and kept them in their
forever home. The fact that he refers to himself as "daddy" and
they're "my kids" was my first clue! ;o)
Anyway, it seems they are running the household with iron paws,
despite only being 7-8 weeks old and the whole household is revolving
around them. All is as it should be in Gus's feline household. ;o)

Yep, he's a goner.
We have a little trouble here sorting our relationships, as in how the
various family member fur kids are related to each other.
As in Charlie is Jake and Molly and Kayla's daddy, but Camille's grampa.

It is funny when men deny they like cats although they really do. I love
the honesty of the men who post here and make their besottedness unabashedly
clear.

My father has always hated cats (and he said the same about dogs).
Eventually I found out the reason for his dislike of dogs and why we
couldn't have any pets other than birds when I was a kid. And he got over
the dog thing when I had to move back in briefly in 1984 with a dog. (Never
thought I'd see him on the floor playing!)
But cats? No excuses. He simply hates cats. Yet now, at age 83, he likes
to look out the window and see the neighbors' two black cats prowling around
in the bushes chasing lizards. And when he's cognitive he asks me "How is
Persia?" Go figure.

Ah yes, the old "don't like cats" line. This guy is pretty transparent,
isn't he?
But what about Ryan? He doesn't get any kitties?
And, just curious - what does "OH" stand for? A friend of mine, who is
partnered with, but not legally married to, her significant other, refers
to him as her "outlaw husband". :) So that's the only use of "OH" I've
heard of.

I just assumed it means "other half".

That's the best bit...... Ryan wanted a kitty too, but decided he
couldn't split the 3 sea kitties up and that he doesn't really have
time for young kittens because he's out all day. So he's looking at
the local shelter for a pair of older cats and hopes to get them in
the next couple of weeks. :o)
OH stands for "Other half". Gus and Carmela are common law partners,
and he says that "OH" stands for "Old Hag".... Carmela has the
patience of a saint!

Solomon would have given him all three. :)

That's great news!

That is so cute! There's nothing more precious than a man who goes
goofy
over a cat. That's how I knew immediately my daughter had picked a
winner.

Hehe. Yeah, he definitely doesn't like cats. Happy ending, and I'm glad
my namesake has a good new home. :)
