I am pleased to say that Jeff will be released frrom the hospital by the end
of this week.

Yesterday he was moved out of ICU into a regular old room, now to get PT
before being sprung. He has been totally worked off the ventilator and
sedatives and just needs a bit more exercise, and to learn how to inject
himself, for he has now become an insulin-dependent diabetic. Better Jeff
with needles than no Jeff at all though. he lost 90 pounds in the ICU! Most
of it was edema though, for he was swollen like an overdone water balloon;
not much was attributed to the tube feedings they had to do. Jeff will be
released to his home, probably with an aide coming in for four to eight
weeks; a standard in county-managed cases. his Sweetie will be happy to see
his Daddy again, and when he's well enough to drive to our place Stosh and
the Bit will be happy to see him too; they know who "Unckle Jeff" is and like
his very physical play. Tigger will still go to my friends Olive and Mary;
her former two-leg Pete has not shown any interest in providing and caring
for the cat while under Jeff's care, and we found out he's had a regular job
for months. So as the Prophet of the First Church of Fritzianity returns, a
cat he swore to provide for goes to her forever-home. Amen.

Blessed be,
Baha

Wonderful!  For some reason I had been thinking about the Prophet this
week and was about to ask how he was.  Must be the Power of Purr.
