My father gave me a new camera for my birthday. My other camera is
somewhat complex and while great for shooting birds and wildlife, etc
it doesn't fall into the category of point n shoot.  So now I have a
point n shoot camera and of course I had to practice with the cats.
If you are interested in seeing current photos of my clowder they can

Yeah, the look like their just floating in mid-air. Because he's a
black cat it's hard to see his other features, so it just looks like
a black background.

Lacey has such pretty markings!

Thanks Joyce, I love looking at Lacey's markings, there are places
where her markings are symmetrical on opposite sides, very cool.

Thanks Tak, I liked the Barnabus eyes as well, they kind of sparkle.
Next I'm going to try to get his teeth. He's a ferocious boy and likes
to bare his teeth which really show up in a black cat.

ROFLOL!! He will bite you, he is crazy. At the same time he is a huge
mamma's boy and will tolerate my hugging and squeezing him for a
moment then he opens his mouth and bares his teeth.  But if I go out
of the room he follows me.  If I go to the bathroom without him, he'll
scratch on the door and cry. When we go to bed at night he has to lay
right next to me and kneed. But daily, every day of the week, I have
scratches on my arms from where he's gone nuts and clawed me.  When he
bites it is only a warning bite, he never breaks skin, but those claws
are sharp!!!

It sounds to me like those bites and scratches are his way of showing you
how much he loves you. :) Seriously.

I'm sure you're at least 1/2 right. The other half has to do with my
inability to leave him alone.  He is just so much fun to hassle :)
When his tail is flicking I simply have to ruffle his fur or try to
catch his tail and hold it still.  When his ears are back I cup his
head in my hand and ruffle it. As soon as he's taken a lengthy bath, I
rub my hands all over his fur so that he's "unclean" again. He's just
so much fun to harass that I just can't resist.  So you can see, I
deserve the scratches.  But he must enjoy it because he comes back for
more and right now he's asleep pressed up against my leg as close as
he can get. ....hmmm, maybe I'll wake him up <evil grin>

How unfortunate for him. :)  I like the "unclean" part - it sounds
like you're messing up some religious purification rite that he's
performing.  You also have to kiss him.  Both my kitties are already
used to having my face in theirs.

Dot's also a biter, and a licker.  When she grooms me, it goes
something like "lick, lick, lick, lick, bite".  It doesn't really hurt
much, but I pretend that it does, and cry out. :)

Buster likes to harass me while I'm trying to sleep.  I'll feel him
chewing on my hair - I'm afraid I'll end up like this toy:

Then, I'll feel *six* appendages on my face - a whiskery snout in one
ear, a tail in the other ear, and a pair of paws on each cheek!

Think of how much you'll save in barbershop costs. :)

That sounds like quite a balancing act on his part!

Ahhh, you mess with him!  I think we must all do that sometime, and I
don't see why not.  After all, they're free to mess with us. ;)

Do you mess with your masters and how?

Barnabus is the only one I mess with regularly. I figure Sam has
enough on his plate without having his hoomans irritate him and Hobbes
thinks you're petting him and he loves it.  Very rarely will I try to
irritate Lacey, she will turn on you and rabbit kick and claw,
besides, I still have a very healthy respect for her teeth. But
Barnabus, he has a little demon inside him, you can see it in his eyes
and he just deserves being irritated :D

Miranda sez, of course my Barnabus is a furrocious boy! No squeezing of
my boyfriend, please. <baring long thin claws>

Going back to look at pics of handsome Barnabus.
