Today was 7 years since Fission celebrated her 20th,
and last, birthday with us. From her 1st birthday to her last,
she always had shrimp on her birthday. My wife and I decided
in '01 that in Fission's memory, July 7th would always be
"shrimp day". Fission loved her shrimp. One year we had to
"cut her off" after 10 large shrimp. Normally, 5 or 6 was enough
to fill her up. I'm fairly certain that she didn't know the 7th was
her birthday, but she sure as hell knew "shrimp day".
Fission was the sexiest, and most regal, cat you would ever
meet. And she worked it for all it was worth. A cute look and
a swish of her beautiful tail would usually get her anything and
everything she wanted. If it didn't, a loud "mmeeeooowww"
(meaning "serve me, Peasant !") would. Usually, though, the
"demand" was for nothing more than a hug and a petting.
Fission loved both my wife and me, but from the day that
kitten climbed up my leg, sat in my lap, and looked up at me
me with those big eyes and gave me a "take me home with
you" look, she was my cat. Or, rather, I was her guy.
I've loved all our cats, but Fission.......I was "In love" with
that cat. She'd walk up to me, look me in the eye, and then
turn around and swing that bushy tail back and forth. I
couldn't help thinking "Damn, I wish I could be a cat for a
day".
Happy Birthday, Fiz.
I'll miss you for the rest of my life, Sweetheart.
To see the sexiest cat that ever lived.

What a gorgeous girl! I see what you mean about The Look, LOL. A girl
who knows she's beautiful and knows how to work it.
Happy Birthday Fission, wherever you are!

I hadn't realized it was a birthday.
Yes, must have been a fav, for you to remember.
Did you remember or was it your wife?
Is she buried in your yard? How many are buried in the yard?

Thank's, folks.
Fission was the sweetest cat. Everyone loved Fiz.
Even people who didn't particularly like cats loved
her. Several of them even said that they'd have a
cat if they could find one like Fission.
Not a chance.......she was truly "one of a kind".
