Story Excerpt:

SAN BERNARDINO - Pamela Escamilla didn't intend to ship Spice from Hawaii to
San Bernardino in a 20-foot Matson storage container.

No, Spice wasn't nutmeg, clove or ginger that spent nearly three weeks on
the high seas cooped up in the shipping container. It was Escamilla's
3-year-old calico cat.

And curiosity almost killed her.

No telling how many of her nine lives the ocean voyage cost the nosy feline.

But Spice is recovering on a tried and true recipe: chicken soup prescribed
by the vet.

Also interesting coincidence that the article mentioned was on the site of
the newspaper that Nancy used to work for.
