Thank you all for your recovery purrs for Jake.  He has been an ideal
patient the last week or so.

Jake went to the vet this morning and had his stitches removed and his
ECollar taken off.  He pitched a fit when we gathered him up to go in the
car.

I think a fair translation of what he was yelling was.  "Look, I've been a
good guy.  I stopped trying to take the collar off.  I left my stitches
alone.  I was even pretty stoic about the problems I was having eating and
drinking.  And I did it all for YOU.  Now I don't want to go for a ride in
the car to the bad place.  I want to go home.  Can't you do that for ME?"

The claw tracks down Charlie's back will heal eventually.  Jake has really
enjoyed being able to eat properly since we got home.

He appears to have plans to spend the afternoon eating, drinking, using the
facilities, and grooming everything he hasn't been able to reach.  I kept
the loose fur brushed out, but it just isn't the same thing.

He promised to send thank you purrs and to set aside special times to purr
for all of you.

Please give Jake extra skritches and kisses from Lily.
Tell him we are very proud of him. Give Charlie our condolences
for the scratched back. ;)

Jake has spent the day recovering/celebrating stretched out on my side of
our bed.  I'm gonna be sneezing all night.

Charlie is in there with him and watching TV because Jake "needs company"

Jake has groomed everything he couldn't reach the last  two weeks and
stretched himself into every position he couldn't manage with the collar.
He has eaten so much we took up his food.  There will be a lot of tomorrows.
