The way we have things we just love about "what cats do" I think one of
the things WE do that cats like the best is talk. Once they pick up the
habit of conversing they become total pros. I bet they tell each other
how much fun their humans are when they chatter on about stuff.

I like this perspective - what cats like about hoomins. :)

It is 100F here right now and I insisted that TuTu come in the house. She
was on the enclosed back patio. She finally did and had a snack, then
wanted out again. I told her she was already a half-baked pussycat and
should stay in the house until the temperature goes down a little. She is
in the sunroom now complaining to me about being in the house. At 100
with 8 percent humidity, I think she is better off indoors.

It wasn't that hot here today - about 95 farenheit, about 40% humidity. But
some bozo at a construction site down the street cut a cable and there was
no electricity here for at least 2 hours. I had to sit outside (my
apartment is a bit dark since it has very few windows) because all I could
do was read and I couldn't see in here. Poor Persia wanted out with me but
I had to tell her no. It was still cooler inside than it was out there.

That sounds like the summer weather we have. And I have a terrible time
getting the cats in out of the heat.
Remember their body temperature is normally as much as 102.5. And fur
insulates both from heat and cold.
Sam was our worst. We used to have an orchard next to us and I learned
where he liked to nap. When it went over 100 I'd go out and carry the
basically limp cat back into the house.
