LMarks - 04 Nov 2004 15:14 GMT The tops of Chessie's toes are like the finest velvet - she doesn't much like having her toes touched but if I pet them very, very gently, I can get away with it :) She does like tummy tickles and will lie stretched out full length on my arm while I rub her tummy and tell her what a very bestest kitty she is! She doesn't have such compunctions about touching *my* "paws". When sleeping, she'll often drape her paws over my hand or even wrap both front paws around it and lay her head down on my hand like a pillow. I find that terribly endearing :)

Kitty FC's because she is too potentially fierce, and Boyfriend's because I think he still wouldn't trust me to do it and I don't want to lose his hard-won confidence. This post made me want to stroke feeties. BF is out, but Kitty FC was snoozing in front of the kitchen fire. I *did* ask her first, so she wasn't asleep. She said yes, okay. I gently stroked the top of her right paw. That was OK. I did the same to her left paw, that was OK too. I stroked the right paw again, and she put her claws out and turned her paw over, but she didn't scratch. I went to the left paw again to stroke the lovely velvet top of it, so very gently. And what happened? You can probably guess. In an instant she grabbed my hand, bit it, and clawed my finger that was stroking her paw. Then she ran off, as if she knew she was wrong to do it. What's that about?

She has two white toes on her right forepaw and two on her left back paw for NO REASON!! And the pads are pink there, instead of black like the others!
Nocturne's WRATH is upon those who DARE touch her exalted toes.
Smokey sez, whatcha doin' Mom? Wanna play with my feet? THat's weird but okay. You feed me, and I luv u.

Basically saying "OK, I let you have what you wanted but now it's time to stop (or else..)".

Lucky me, he loves paw massages! ;) My cats have never objected to getting their feet touched. That's because I let them get used to it from a very early age, both through claw trimming and general massage. Now, at the age of three and two, they are very comfortable having their feet touched and groomed. But it's all a question on starting early.

They're both relatively young (eight and four) and go outside quite a lot, so I don't have to trim their claws, but as they get older they might need help, so I am trying to get them happy about having their feet handled like that.
It was quite hard to get Ripley to accept that sort of attention, because he was a timid eighteen-month old when he came to live with us, and he also had a very badly infected toe that had to be amputated, which made him very sensitive about having his feet touched. He accepts it now though, for short periods.

Frank doesn't like his paws touched, but Nikki likes to get a paw massage every now and then. She likes to have her toes separated and to be tickled between the toes and at the base of the paw pad. O J - 05 Nov 2004 14:56 GMT >Neither of the girls here like having their toes touched - but they >have to put up with an occassional "pinky toe" game. OK Steve, not you've got us all wondering what the "pinky toe" game is. Is it anything like the 'paw game' my sweet Misty, who's waiting for me at the bridge, and I used to play. Most cats, if they're say sitting on your computer desk, will move the foot away should you gently place your forefinger on their foot. Misty however, appreciated the 'one-upmanship' of the superior position and would place the paw on top of the finger.
The human would then place the finger on top of the paw followed by Misty placing her paw on top of the finger. This usually went on as long as the human cared to play. That cat just didn't want to be in the subordinate position.

[quoted text clipped - 11 lines] >long as the human cared to play. That cat just didn't want to be in >the subordinate position. Oh nothing elaborate. Sort of a take off of "this little piggy", which I sometimes do when the they're all sprawled out. They usually put up with it for a while, then give me one of those "that the h*ll are you doing?" stares. When Sammy gets tired of my bugging her she gets up and moves. LB either does like your Misty and puts her paw on my hand, or goes into a meatloaf position and hides her toes.

Haven't seen it in *years.* Yeah, it's really weird the way Vino has this foot fetish. We had him neutered at exactly 6 months of age. But he still seems to be able to get "excited". With the girl kitties, you kind of can't miss their private parts, especially when they stick their butts in your face, which Roxy and Smudge do on a daily basis. But Licky's a private kind of guy, and doesn't seem inclined to exhibit himself.

I know this is naive, and hope the way I put it isn't too indelicate, but if he was to poke it out (ahem) where would it come from? Under his tail from the bits he's been neutered, or what? I just have no idea and would like to know.

Does BF ever lie on his back, and do the belly up thing? Or he must clean his "privates" some time. You can see then. Right where you would think it's supposed to be. Between his back legs. You can see where he urinates from. You see that little furry bit? Think of that as a little furry foreskin. You can't really see his penis, it's retracted up inside there. If he somehow (not my business how ;)) becomes stimulated, or is thoroughly cleaning himself, his penis will sometimes become erect, and come out of the fur. If it ever happened, you wouldn't miss it. It's a pink hairless thing that's just a tad alarming looking. ;)
This cross-section diagram here shows the penis in a retracted position: <http://www.vetmed.wsu.edu/ClientED/anatomy/cat_ug.asp>

Where else could I have asked what a cat's willy looks like? :-))) I don't think BF will ever let me see his, he's just too shy. That's okay with me. I'm just used to animal male genitals (dog, guinea pig, hedgehog, horse etc etc) appearing half way along the belly. I just couldn't imagine where it was tucked away in a boycat.
