No, I think most of it is up around the Dallas area, but the bad weather is
supposedly heading our way.  Thank you for your concern, Matthew - you are
always so thoughtful about things like this - you ex didn't know how good
she had it and she blew it big time!

Areas in the Hill Country near Austin have seen as many as 17 inches of
rain fall in 24 hours!!! Lots of purrs for the thousands of people and
countless animals being affected by this.

Wastin' away again in Margaritaville,
Searchin' for my lost shaker of salt.
Some people claim that there's a woman to blame, but I know it's my
own damn fault.

Hi,
All is well here on the South Texas Gulf Coast.  We've had some rain
and the usual ongoing wind. The turtles are coming ashore to lay eggs.
We haven't seen any egg laying, but last Saturday we went to the beach
and saw the release of Kemp's ridley hatchlings.  When someone reports
a turtle laying eggs, a rescue organization gathers up the eggs to
incubate.  When they hatch, the babies are released on the beach.  It
was such a thrill to see those tiny little turtles skitter across the
sand and swim off in the waves.

We are hoping for an uneventful hurricane season,.

Our thoughts are with our fellow Texans who are enduring flooding.
Thank you for caring, Matthew.

You are welcome Annie!

And you are not the only one hoping for a calm hurricane season.  The stream
would push them right up thru the center of Florida this year  so we all are
doing a little pray.  I have already stock piled some supplies just waiting
to load up on fuel if necessary.
At least I won't have to worry about the stores this year  they all will
be finished being transferred over to he new owners here shortly and I will
be completely retired.  Yeah I think?

Sure, if you say so.  Most people I've talked to find they are so busy
in retirement that the wonder how they ever found time to go to a job.

You are right Annie  I think it is just pre retirement jitters  me with a
light schedule instead of ok  I got 5 hours  and 9 hours of work to do and I
get it done in 4 hours.  Maybe I could take up golf  and get to wear old man
pants up to my neck he he ;-)

Yes volunteer work, church activities, and exercise classes keep me
very busy, but without work related stress.

There is something inherently hard to hold on to about non-paid-work time.
The worst I ever had it was when I was working part time.  Everyone, myself
included expected me to be able to do everything since I was only working 4
hours a day.

Working eight hours a day for someone else was a dream.  Kids in school or
daycare and no one expected me to find time to do anything I didn't want to
do.  I managed the free time I did have much better with this arrangement
too.  I knew there were certain things that had to be done and that there
was no time later to put them off too.

Retired sucks.  I'm not a very self directed person anyway.  Everyone feels
free to make demands on my time and energy and I mostly just let them.
Nothing every gets done when its supposed to with the exception of feeding
the masters and attending to their needs.

Plus there is the added factor that as you get older it takes at least twice
as long to do just about everything.

---and then you get to the point when you say "why bother?  it can be
done another day."

We've past the point where that's just a given.  Thanksgiving and Christmas
are about the only date anything really has to be done by.

We're in the Fort Worth area and, while tired of the rain, are doing
fine.  No problems.  We're up rather high, not along the Brazos River,
so I expect we're safe.  Some minor re-routing of car travel, though.
Streams are over the road in some places....

Mark Edwards is in the area, too, I think.  Hope he and his are ok...

Thanks for asking, Matthew...
