I'm new. Quick rundown: I'm 20, my husband is 21. We rent a three
bedroom house (w/ awesome landlords who are supportive of our
fostering endeavors) in Southern California. My sister-in-law and 8 yr
old nephew are moving in with us in a few weeks. We are proudly owned
by 4 cats, 2 adult dogs, 1 puppy, four cockatiels, and seven snakes.
All of our dogs/cats are girls; and our 'tiels and snakes are pretty
split gender-wise.
For almost six years, we have fostered cats for a no-kill cat rescue.
When we still lived with my parents, we made a mean bottle feeding
family 'cause my husband and I would care for the babies whenever we
were home, but while we worked: my mom or sister could care for them.
Now that we've moved out, taking in bottle-fed babies is more of a
challenge, but we're still regarded as the fosters for bottle fed
kitties on an emergency basis.
At present, we have fifteen fosters. Four will be returned to their
original foster family in the next week or two. Mama cat and her eight
babies were dumped at a church last weekend. Babies are 4 weeks old
and we're supplementing the runt w/ formula feedings once a day. Mama
is as sweet as can be (and tiny: can't believe she popped out eight).
And the other two fosters are boys we bottle fed from 2.5 weeks
(January). They're 6 mos now and handsome, cuddly, loving.. Just
having a hard time finding their forever home! (Both are solid black.)

I look forward to reading about everyone's adventures!
(Sorry it's long, I'm long-winded on my intro posts!)

What beautiful babies! Congrats for the excellent fostering work. The
world needs more folks willing to foster.
And welcome to the group! My wife and I just moved from southern
California at the end of March, and now live in Iowa. We've got 6 furkids
ranging in age from 12-15 (Cleopatra - vet is unsure how old she is) to 2
(Ranger). One of them (Sammy) was rescued from the street, the rest were
shelter rescues.

Bless you. Fostering is hard on the heart. Anyone who is a regular
fosterer has my total
respect and admiration. I couldn't do it.
Your babies are just beautiful, all of them.
