I was watching "Animal Cops Houston" on TV this morning, about the
Houston SPCA. There was one particular story about a pair of abandoned
cats who the Animal Officer had to trap at the home where they had
been left. A young ginger boy cat led her a merry dance, avoided the
baited spring traps etc. They eventually caught up with him after a
few days and took him for assessment and subsequent adoption. They
though initally that he was feral and may not be adopted, but....
They then did a follow up on the cat. He had found a new home. Nothing
remarkable in that really, apart from he had been adopted by a "first-
time" catslave who was a post-grad student. And boy did "Little
Dude" (the cats new name) have his slave whipped into shape PDQ!!! Not
only did the new slave pander to his every whim, but he had scratching
trees, beds, 4 different kinds of food, toys...... but the best bit
was the quote telling about his habits from the human slave...
"When he's in a different room in the apartment, he likes to know
where I am so he whines. I of course meow back at him just to let him
know that daddy is here and everything is OK. My girlfriend is annoyed
because I refused to lock him out of the bedroom and she didn't like
him coming into bed with us. Well, it's his apartment, not hers so
tough on her." I just about PMSL at that point!
One ginger guy who knew how to whip a human into shape...... It's
definitely a ginger thing - I know from bitter experience. Catnipped,
be afraid with your two ginger boys. Be very afraid. ;o)

As a proud owner of two gorgeous (and rather large) orange boys, I must
concur. Fez has become an expert herder, when it comes to letting us
know how hungry he is and how THERE IS NO FOOD, despite the fact that I
can see the half-empty bowls of food in the kitchen. Rufous likes to
herd me to the bathroom in the morning, when we have a little routine
that involves him hunting dreadful water droplets from the shower head.

lol!
Hey, I have two ginger cats, a boy (Internet) and a girl (Kate).
Internet is the absolutely sweetest cat I have ever known, and Kate is
pretty sweet herself (when her brother Jack isn't egging her on to
mayhem, that is). Okay, so they're white and ginger, so maybe it
doesn't count ;-)

My orange cat Rusty has a good temperment. In his senior years, he
gets a bit more vocal when he is hungry. He is
generally pretty well behaved. My vet told me orange cats
are more prone to urianry blockages. Rusty has a history of
it and I lost track of how many times we went to the emergency vet
clinic.
