He has a broken back as well as a broken leg and arm.  The head injuries
weren't mentioned so I gather it was a gash on the head (they bleed a lot).
But OMG, a broken back may mean he won't walk again.  Depends on where the
break is but oh this really sucks.  They need to throw the book at this
a.shole who was driving without a license.

And of course his family is rallying around saying he didn't do anything
wrong.  No, this multiple offender, why on earth would he have done anything
wrong?!  Tyhey do the same thing if a gang-banger child shoots someone.
a.sholes.

It depends on where the break is. Did they say he wouldn't walk? I know
an awful lot of people who have broken their backs or necks and recover
quite well after surgery. I sure hope it is the case with him.

It's too early to tell, Karen.  I've no idea where the break is.

Just got off the phone with Alex.  Lower lumbar break, broken leg and arm.
Says they have him so pumped up on morphine he's pretty clueless.  He'll be
okay.  He was surprised he made the news.

I'm so glad to hear this. He has such a long road ahead of him to
recover, I'll pray for him. But
he is young, and that's defiitely in his favor.

Sounds like his back should be okay in time... breaking or cracking a
vertabrae doesn't automatically paralyse you - if it stayed in place
and didn't damage the spinal cord, and he was properly immobilised, it
should heal like any other broken bone.

Purrs that Alex recovers fully and that the a$$hole gets "sent away" for
a lo-o-ong time.

A broken vertebra doesn't always mean a spinal cord injury.

Is the South more prone to DUI cases than other parts of the
country?  I certainly see more TV ads from attorneys who
specialize in such cases here in AZ than I ever did in
California, so they must have reason to think it will bring
in business.  Before my brother went back to the upper
midwest for the summer, we had lunch at Chili's one weekday.
At the next table were three young mothers (with their
children) noisily getting sloshed on Margaritas!  (The
waiter said they'd already been there a couple of hours.)
What amazes me most is that this is a "Bible Belt" state,
boasting "Christian Family Values" on all the media!

Last time I checked AZ wasn't in the south LOL

People get sloshed all over, kids or no kids.  Hell, I'm getting sloshed
right now.  But I'm not driving ;)  In my experience, the good Christians
are the ones who are always caught doing the things they are so adamantly
against.

It may technically be in the Southwest, but its character
seems more akin to the South than to California and Nevada!

Big, fat healing purrs on the way. Brandy's very good at it...and for you and
your family too, to keep strong and positive.

Blessed be,
Baha
