Many of you here have been following the story of my neice who was raped
and her mother, my sister.  The bottom line is that my sister has
reached a point where she is barely functioning - she makes it to work
and back, but beyond that she is in real trouble.

I need to get to her and I don't know how.  Thoughts I have had are to
get a ride with someone who travels between the two areas (She lives in
the Houston area and I live near Indianapolis), or to do the shuttle
thing like I have done for shelter animals where people drive short
pieces of the trip and then someone else takes over.

I don't know how many more ideas people out there have, but I am open to
them because all I know right now is that I need to be with my sister to
help take care of her right now.  She is the other half of me and it is
killing me to be up here while she is down there.

Thanks,
Bridget

I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions, Bridget, but you, your sister
and your niece do have my best wishes and prayers.

Bridget, would flying work? If you let me know which dates you want to
travel, how long do you want to stay there, I can search for an
inexpensive plane ticket. I was just looking and saw some flights from
Indianapolis to Houston for less than $300. I would be happy to help pay
for the ticket, I'm sure others would too.

Count me in for Victor's idea. Just let us know where and when to send the
help.

I'll help also, though it can't be a lot - but every little bit helps.  You
might also want to check with the airlines for needed couriers (some
companies need things hand-delivered and will notify airlines that they will
pay all or most of the air fare if you will agree to deliver what they need
delivered.

You've got me and Louie's help here too. Let us know.

Bridget, you are in our prayers, and your family too.

Blessed be,

I have cried all evening since I read this message.  It is more than I
even hoped for.  I have been trying to get hold of my sister to find out
her hours to let you know about days and times.  Unfortunately, I
think this was one of my sisters bad days and she just took the phone
off the hook so she didn't have to deal with anyone.  But I left voice mail.

I do know I have to wait until I get Tony, my oldest cat through some
antibiotics so my friends won't have to pill him while I'm gone.
Doesn't everything all hit at once?

For everyone who has seconded Victor's offer, I am speechless.

I can't help EXCEPT through prayer -- but I'll do a lot of that!

What a great group this one is!

I certainly would if I could.  I'm applying for jobs at local shops for
"holiday work".  I don't care if it's minimum wage (which it will be); I
need something!

Purrs for Bridget and her sister and of course, the neice.  Bless all you
people who can help with the plane ticket!

Bridget, we just bought a house, and our 9 cats are killing us
financially, but I live in Houston, and would be more than happy to
pick you up at the airport, and take you where you need to go.
(Houston airports are a nightmare, you don't even want sis to have to
deal with that)  Just let me know dates and times.  My e-mail is

Purrs that it will work out for your sister, niece, and whole family.
I can't imagine how hard this how hit them. I hope that something
works out so that she finds a support group.

I wish I knew how to help, but I don't have any ideas.  Just sending
you my best wishes.  I know how painful this is for everyone involved.
