I asked a few weeks ago for purrs for Frannie. She got run over by a car.
Seems to have worked pretty well! This is what Bob told me today:
-----------
Frannie is doing incredibly well since her accident. If you didn't know
her well, you might think that nothing is wrong with her. But I can see
a bit of wobble to her back legs if she is on her feet long. But I can't
believe she has recovered to this extent. One odd thing is that, except
for one brief outing, she hasn't shown any interest in going outdoors.
Maybe she associates this with her accident. I don't know. I'm happy
with this, because I'd be afraid of her wandering too far away and then
not having the strength to walk all the way back. Instead, she's been
insisting on spending the day in our basement, and then she makes a fuss
about coming up again. But I don't want her down there all of the time,
since I don't think it is good for her to be too reclusive. Also, the
basement is where our black cat Aggie spends the night, and those two
don't get along.

I'm so glad to hear Frannie's doing well, I'm sure her age helped. Purrs for
a very long life with no more mishaps.

I just read your message and realized this is the Bob who's book I
read and where I found you in the acknowledgments. I remember reading
about Aggie. Please let Bob know that a "fan and her feline family"
are sending lots of purrs that Frannie recovers completely from her
accident.

Yes, the very one! ISTR you were looking to find his first book Enslaved by
Ducks, were you successful? I think I preferred it.
Bob & Linda are quite busy at the moment, they are rearing orphaned baby
birds, as they do every year. ATM they have robins, downy woodpeckers and
rose-breasted grosbeaks.

I will, he'll like it. It's remarkable how quickly she has recovered from a
broken pelvis and a dislocated hip that could not be be put back until the
pelvis had healed. I put it down to the purrs and prayers once again.
