My daughter just called and she has acquired two 2-week-old orphan
kittens. She wanted to ask if I could take them to the shelter.

Well, after that rabid fit I threw over the orphan kitten there a week
ago, I could hardly ask them to take them, could I?

Her work scheduled is such that she cannot bottle feed often enough.
She is bringing them tomorrow. She has inherited enough of my genes
that she feels so guilty about it she is bringing all the KMR and
supplies I will need.

At least Frank will be so excited. He loves babies. I'll post some
pics soon. Wish me luck, please.

Lots of luck with them, Sherry.  Thank your lucky stars that they are not
ferrets who don't open their eyes for nigh on 6 weeks, I had to hand rear a
litter of 7 orphaned at a week old some years ago. :-/   Sleep, what is
that? <g>
It's just so worth it, though, when they all live.

Oh no for you but oh YEAH for us. Baby pics! I really think you were
justified in your little fit, but I'd be a wee hesitant on trust right
now!

Much luck with the orphans and God bless.

OH my!  Best of luck.  Get sleep when you can.  Remember they won't starve
if one feeding is a little late, and they can share the same schedule
whether they like it or not.

And they will be such adorable bitties in just another week!

(At two weeks I just find them too fragile and scary to enjoy)

I did that with Jona from day 3 of her life.  I carried her around
under my shirt to keep her warm.  She used to settle into the hollow
of my back and fall asleep while I was doing housework, then I
couldn't sit down!

Needless to say, she has always been a very affectionate cat.

Blessings on you and the bitties.

Oh no! But good for you. I'll be looking forward to the pics. My Frank
also used to love babies. It's so cute when those big bumbling boycats
go all gooshy over kittens. :)

Just in time for Father's Day, here's a great video of a lovely Bengal

Get some sleep now!

We won't expect to hear from you for a week or two shall we? Or if we
do it'll be some frayed half coherent message typed in the wee small
hours between feeds. (a friend of mine who had to rear a litter of 5 8
day old kitties after their mum was killed (kicked to death) claimed
at his age with his kids grown up he thought he'd had done with
sleepless nights! To his credit, 4 of them grew up strong and healthy,
the other one turned out to have some sort of congenital problem and
went over the Bridge a day or so after he started looking after them)

And of course when you emerge blinking in the daylight and thinking
"Phew! Finally I get can some sleep" your computer will be overloaded
with people asking for pictures of the bitties

Good luck!

Lesley
