That happens sometimes when I open the phone book and see someone I know!
Strange with 1 million people in the city to open the book to someone you
know.

I'll never forget my father proclaiming fax machines were a "fad". This is
the same man who said FedEx would never catch on because "Who needs a
package delivered overnight?" Gee, Dad, do you think the light bulb will
stick around for a few more years? LOL

Interesting! You never know where your name might pop up! A number of
years ago a former co-worker was bored one day and decided, for some reason,
to Google [don't you love how that has turned into a verb now?] my name.
Imagine his surprise to find not only a bunch of recipes but also a photo!
He emailed me. I'm glad I got to correspond with him, however briefly. He
was diagnosed with cancer and died just a couple of years ago :(

I connected with a family cousin that we had lost track of for fifty years
by way of a genealogy site in Scotland. I'm in California, she's in Texas
and grandparents family from Western Maryland by way of Scotland. My aunts
were just thrilled to find her again and she was thrilled to find us

Hey, my brother's name is Greg Maddux. He has to watch where online he
puts his name to avoid getting stuff for the baseball player. Oddly
enough, the baseball player is married to a , you guessed it - Kathy.
Not many with my married name though. Usually I'm the only one that
comes up with both names.

I'm so sorry to hear that, Jill. But it is great that you were able to
have some contact with him before he crossed over.
When I was first on the Internet as we know it today, I was searching
(wasn't on Google at this point in time; I think Alta Vista was the
search engine of choice then) for something or other, and ran across a
friend from grade school through high school, Don Crabb. We e-mailed,
and he gave me his phone number, but money was so tight, I couldn't
justify making a long-distance call. And the next thing I knew, he had
died :-( I'll always regret not calling him. He was a cat person, too.

who also had no idea that Don was known as a "Mac Master" and was a
friend of Roger Ebert!
