Mischief - 06 Jun 2007 05:55 GMT
I was at my computer and suddenly i hear the all too familiar sound of
a kitten crying.

I turn around and to my surprise, I see Stinky Nick at the TOP of the
cat tree.

My first thought was, "How the heck did you get all the way up there?"

The poor guy looked at me and cried again.  Then it hit me.

His hoolikitten curiousity got him to the TOP of the tree.  Now,
however he finally had realized just how HIGH he was off the ground
and was pacing around the top of the tree, crying.

"I can't get DOOOOOWWNNNNNNNN!!!!!!"

Awwwwwwwww...........

CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT!!!!

hehehehe

I hear a growl and look over at Mischief who is meatloafed on my
desk.  She's glaring at Nick and clearly saying, "You stupid ball of
fluff, just CLIMB down already."

"But I can't get DOWWWWNNN!!"

"Stoopid little kit...."

So I took pity on the little guy and lifted him down.  Now he's
prancing around like a normal kitten again.

Sheesh!

And btw, the rescue girl told me that the adoption this weekend is for
dogs only, but not to worry, there were more coming up for CATS.

Soooo, I'll probably have Stinky Nick for at least two weeks or so.

Foster, yes FOSTER!!!!!!!!

Kristi

And STOP SNICKERING!!!

Not snickering in the least-two weeks of that unbearably cute ball of fur and
then you'll hand him over to be adopted-right?
(Okay snickering now!)

I was reminded of when Caliban saw his first real tree. He immediately
raced about five metres up (15 feet) with eyes gleaming insanely. Then
he stopped. And looked down. Uh-oh. Insane look replaced by deep worry.

He did manage to come down himself. It didn't stop him from racing up
another tree, and even higher up. He made it down from that one, too,
but then he had learned his lesson, and only ever climbed a few metres
up other trees. We'll see if he remembers his lesson this summer, or if
he'll go racing up many trees this time.

Marina, Miranda and Caliban. In loving memory of Frank and Nikki.

Everyone's favorite stage of kittenhood-  when their mobility has
outstripped their brain development. ;)
