I've seen on the news that there's been flooding in the Houston TX
area. Are Victor and Catnipped ok? Has anyone heard from them?

Also any updates on Pam Shirk? Is she still in the hospital?

We went to visit my in-laws in Houston for the weekend (sorry we didn't
have time to come visit Catnipped!) and drove through a couple of
monsoons. It was scary, I've never driven through so much rain before.

Yes, she is, last I heard.

Sunday we went to the Mercer arboretum, not far from you. It's very
nice! I need to go back in summer time when all the gingers are
blooming, it's got to be impressive. Right now the day lillies were in
full bloom, very pretty!

Yep, right around the corner from us!  It is a gorgeous place in the spring,
summer and fall.  Unfortunately they have started a new "subdivision" right
next to the aboretum and what is the first thing they did??!  You got it -
cut down all the trees.  There is not so much as a bush in the stark, hot,
dusty bit of land they think will draw potential home owners (I know *I*
would not live in Texas heat without a bit of shade on my house - my
electricity bill would be $5,000 a month in summer!).  So Mercer is one
little bit of paradise surrounded by a hell of barren landscape with
cookie-cutter houses stuck up 5 feet apart from each other!  *SIGH*

Hugs,

CatNipped

Of course, in New Jersey, they wait until the trees have torn up the
sidewalks, foundations and streets that they so thoughtfully planted
around them. I hope they replant and use some common sense in where or
what they plant...

she is still there and will be for quite a while, I haven't had a chance to
call her due to my grandmother's impending death, will try and talk to her
this evening to get an update, but have been emotionally drained trying to
help my sister cope, Lee

Words - so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary,
how potent for good and evil they become in the hands  of one who knows how
to combine them.

Thanks Suz, I'm OK.  I haven't even seen any bad weather (I've just been
flooded with work and haven't had a chance to pop in here).

Hugs,

CatNipped
