I talked to the internal medicine vet this am, and he assured me that
it wasn't the SweetPDZ that caused this. He believes she has
Bartonella, and he is going to treat her for that. This is very
contagious, and he wants the rest of my crew tested for it. That will
be very interesting! My daugher rescued her in Maryland, US, and she
has been with me for 3 years. He thinks she may have had it all this
time, with no symptoms other than an occasional cough. My guys have
had a URI going through the crew - mostly affecting the eyes. Because
of her possibly having Bartonella, the URI affected her the most and
caused the pneumonia. She will be at the vets till Tuesday, at the
very least. :( We can't visit her because if she is contagious, they
don't want it spread throughout the clinic. The vet said they will be
sure to give her lots of cuddles.
Jeanne, thank you for wanting to help. I will check with the vets to
see if they will let you send $$ directly to them. I certainly hope no
others get sick!

Wow. Is she responding to the treatment now? I think they just treat
with AB's right?

I'm so glad it sounds like something that can be taken care of, although
I'm sure you will miss your little Katie in the meanwhile. Purring
that your other furries are okay and don't have Bartonella.
