Meowmie is so MEAN!!!

She leaves the back door to the patio OPEN and the screen door SHUT.
She says it lets in the cool air, but of course since she's a HOOMIN
she doesn't pick up on all the amazing SMELLS.

Every night i sit at the screen door and cry for her to let me OUT.
I've even tried to open the screen door.  How I CURSE my lack of
opposable thumbs!

Its not FAIR!!!  Once when she was coming back in from the patio she
left the door open long enough for me to slip out, and leap up and
over the wall.  YAY!!

But NOOOOOOOOOO, Meowmie angrily goes back inside, shuts the screen
door and opens the front door and walks around looking for me.  I
tried hiding in the bushes but she saw me.  I even tried telling her
that I would be GOOD, that I wouldn't live up to my name and how much
I really REALLY wanted to be OUT.

Meowmie then RUDELY picked me up and brought me BACK inside.

How can I tell her that I really REALLY want to go out?  And even if I
did, I totally would come BACK too.

Mischief

Sheesh, EVERY year i go through this.  I've been doing a lot of arts
and crafts lately so i've been spending a lot of time in my living
room.  I don't want to run up my power bill so I open the back door to
the patio and let the cool breeze come through the screen door.

But EVERY time i do this, especially at night.  Mischief starts CRYING
to go out.

And if i leave the screen door open too long she'll slip out and over
the wall she goes.  Of course I run outside and find her in the bushes
meowing.  Once I decided to let her out and see how she behaved.  She
walked the entire length of the courtyard but she was CRYING all the
way, and I don't want the neighbors to hear.

Part of me is tempted to just let her go.  But even though she is
chipped, I'm scared to death of a few things.

1) I have no idea where she'll go and more importantly when and if
she'll come back.
2)  I've seen too many HBC cases  (hit by cars)
3)  Knowing her she's going to hunt down the strays that hang out
around the apartment building and knowing her she's gonna want smack
the s*** out of them and I don't want to have to bring her in to be
treated for lacerations, bite wounds, abcessed wounds, etc.

She's been with me for 4 years now.  I found her drinking out of the
apartment pool and it was apparent she was on the street for a while.
Her crying gets so annoying and loud that I'm afraid the neighbors
will hear.  And remember, it's only by special permission that I was
allowed to keep her and live in this building (no pets policy)  Its
written into my contract but its under the condition that she remains
indoors.

The big thing of course is not knowing when or if she'll come back.
I'm pretty sure she would come back since this is where she gets fed
and pampered.  But what if she goes out and comes back home during the
day while i'm at work?  I'll be worried sick.

Every time i open the back door she can really smell the great OUT and
begs me to go outside.

Argh........

Words - so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary,
how potent for good and evil they become in the hands  of one who knows how
to combine them.

Invest in a Kitty Walk.  I'm not kidding.  Persia loves it in her Kitty
Walk.  I can keep an eye on her through the door if I'm not sitting outside
with her.  She gets the benefits of being on the OUT without running off and
getting eaten by a big mean dog or hit by a car.  She just wants some fresh
air and a chance to look at the birds that come to my feeder.  It has paid
for itself many times over in the last 4 years.
