DH just returned from a business trip and brought back a laser pointer
for me to use during presentations (yeah, right). I was shining the
light up on the ceiling this morning, when I noticed DD2 (13 mos old)
looking up at the light.

So then I shone the light down on the ground in front of her, and she
took off chasing it around the floor and trying to catch it. It was
just like a cat chase, only much slower and less frenetic.
Unfortunately I was laughing too hard to keep the light on for long. I
can't wait to try it again, especially if the cats get into it too. :)

Mithu's taken to playing with toy cars, since they are nice and light
and spin dramatically on smooth surfaces.

I finally got a laser pointer recently at a pet store.  It's got five
different shapes, and the furries seem to like the star best.  They go
absolutely *nuts* when I get that out.  I wish I had bought one years
ago, but I was worried about the safety.  I'm careful to not shine it
directly in their eyes, so it's okay.

I also had it in my purse for some reason, and got it out at a party
several months ago, where the hostess had 2 d-pets.  I pulled it out,
and they were just as fascinated and frenzied as my cats -- lol.
