Ike (RB) used to do that. He would jump up from the dresser but he
still had to jump up about four or five feet. He was not a kitten at
the time either.

Here is an old picture of Ike on top of the bedroom door. The picture
is a bit fuzzy because I took a digital photo of the original photo.

That's Barney! He loves getting up there - Lords it over his brother,
Bam-Bam, cuz Bam-Bam can't get up there!

I might add that Barney has torn down more than one curtain & rod! He &
Bam-Bam get the zoomies and chase each other all over the house, and Barney
has the ability to shimmy UP the curtains and balance on the rod. Bam-Bam,
poor boy, can't figure it out!
Oop - I take that back.... Bam-Bam used to get on top of the front door -
until I shut it with him up there. Poor boy! I don't know what part of him
got smushed - as soon as I heard a YEOWL I let up on the door, and he was
high-tailing it out of there! Now he WON'T go up to those places! Just
looks up and Barney as if to say, "Durn, it, Bro, play fair - get your fuzzy
butt back down here!"

LOL! I had a cat who used to do that! (I never could quite
figure out how he got up there - it never happened when I
was watching.)

Sure have, but not since Stinky's hoolikitten days. I've mentioned
of course that my sweet, dignified Stinkman was the hoolikitten to end
all hoolikittens? He did that regularly, and one day, he got
himself with both legs on one side on the door, and the other two legs
on the door frame, a la Looney Toons.
And Looney Toons physics took hold-- the door swung out, his legs
streeeeeeeetched out, his body started moving dooooooown, and his tail
puffed OUT. There was a step ladder handy, fortunately, and I
rescued him.

The cats we had when I was a teen could jump six to eight feet from a
standing start. MLB
