Was yesterday, and I forgot to mention it! Anyhow, three years ago
yesterday, a lovely six month old brown tabby lady came home to live
with Pan and me. She was so generous, she even had a surprise inside!
I remember Pan was bewildered and intrigued to have a new cat's smell
wafting from the bedroom. I really tried to follow all the steps the
Humane Society recommended for introducing a new cat to the household
including keeping them separated at first, but the cats settled it
themselves well before the first weekend was out. Cesca was assertive
about her right to join the household, and Pan was a gentleman about
the whole thing, although I could see he had his doubts about this
feline equivalent of a teenybopper moving in on HIS territory. (To say
he was a gentleman about it sounds SO much better than to say he was a
wuss who couldn't stand up to a cat smaller and younger than he was
when all the rights of seniority were in HIS favor. I daresay he was a
bit shocked by her street-smarts and language at first too, living the
sheltered life he did!)
Anyhow, Nina got HER visit to TED, today, and she was much more
amenable to getting into the top opening cat box. She was silent as a
clam the whole way there, and when I opened the box at the Vet's
office, she was huddled up in a corner with her little face all
smooshed against the corner. She was not overly enthusiastic about
coming out, but behaved herself for TED.

Oh oh - be careful saying "silent as a clam" - you never know how
someone is going to interpret that phrase. :)
Congrats to Cesca, and to you for 3 wonderful years. And purrs for
Nina for enduring the TED visit. What a good girl!

I'm so glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that, it definately
merits a BW. ;-)
