PLEASE everyone: the only way to keep uncivil etc. persons & their
bad language etc. out of this lovely NG is:

1) NEVER, ever, respond to their posts

2) Never, ever, EVER, quote a single word from their posts in your own
posts, or those of us who've killfiled the culprit will be obliged to
read what they've said very much against our wishes.

It saddens me to admit that a worker in a fine cause has alienated me
totally and caused my first ever online "explosion".

Before I'm flamed (which I shan't notice if 1) and 2) are followed)
I'd just like to point out that I've been doing charitable work, for
humans as well as cats, for the past 34 years, so have no reason to
"bow down" before the flamer in any way.

Apologies for the use of bandwidth

I've been skipping a lot of posts in the interest of time lately, so I
don't know what this is about.  However, the advice is excellent, and I
wish people here and in my other newsgroups would follow it.

Congratulations to you, Gordon, for all your good work!

Thank you kindly, ma'am.

But I'm sorry for the outburst. Doesn't happen too often, & only when
I'm provoked.

I did not realize this (fairly new to the newsgroups though I've been
on the net for 8 years)  Thank you.
