Hi there:
Victor asked how Otis and Andrew were getting along.
It's been up and down but now I think things are good. Otis' standards have
dropped having been through two kids already and he's decided to stake his
ground just on sleeping with me. For the main part, he has given up clawing
at the baby's door when I am in there feeding and just waits for me in bed.
There were dark days when I brought Andrew to bed with us for a few weeks
though. Otis was banished from the room. First, banished to the basement
(so he wouldn't serenade us outside the bedroom door) and then, just
banished from the room. He slept with Jane then though would come calling
at our door once a night or so.
Joy of joys, we've moved Andrew back to the crib and Otis is back in his
rightful place in the bed. He is happy and content and as loving as usual.
He seems almost noticeably thankful that he's back where he belongs. Purrs
long and loud at bedtime and snuggles happily and possessively, with his
front leg draped accross my neck or chest.
I'm proud of both the boys. Perhaps they are maturing (at 11 yo) and they
like the comforts of home. They have been running back into the house at
dusk these days despite the warmer inviting spring evenings. It used to be
an ordeal to get them in sometimes. It's safer that way and I am thankful.
