Hi,

Pam is doing well under the circumstances.  She figures she will be in there
at least another week, she is loving her cards, she told me about one, where
the slave scanned the pawprint, and I am losing it but I can't remember who
she said sent it.  We had a nice long talk and I am very happy with her
state of mind.  I have always gotten very depressed in the hospital no
matter the reason for being there.  keep those cards and letter coming I
think they help a lot, Lee

That was me and Woodgie - who did not care for having her paw scanned -
it looked like something furry ate one of her toes... . Glad she liked
it... :-)

If she will be there another week my card might arrive before she gets out.
While you were talking to her did she tell you what the doctors thought
about how she might have got this flesh-eating bug?
If it's the same one that I am thinking about she is very lucky to be alive.

I did consider phoning her to cheer her up but I am not sure of the time
difference between North Carolina and the UK and even more unsure whether
she would want me to as she doesn't know me.

I can't answer the second part, but UK to NC should be 5 hours difference.

I'll bet that she would recognize the name "Tweed."  It's possible she even
sent you a card after your surgery.  It would be great if the people who
field her calls would hear yet another accent, and you could tell Pam how
you handled the curiosity of the hospital people when you were in the
hospital.

BTW, I hope you are doing well now.

as a matter of fact I told her about about that thread and she cracked up,
coming from you it would be a riot, Lee

I am sure she would love to hear from you!!!, until this call I had never
talked to her before.  What she said was that this was like a bed sore that
got infected, it was very serious indeed.  Lee
