She's says this newsgroup is too prolific; she can't keep up!  I chatted
with her the other night.  She's doing as well as can be expected.  She's
due back at the Mayo Clinic on the 14th to find out if the cancer has come
back or spread or is - hopefully - gone.  The hospital is putting them up at
a Ritz on an island, which she is looking forward to despite the reasons for
the visit.

There was a bad storm where they live about 6 weeks ago and she and her
husband found a nest of baby bluejays that had blown out of a tree.  She's
been playing house hen :)... hand feeding them every few hours and generally
learning the phrase "eats like a bird" doesn't mean what people think it
means!  (Birds actually eat close to 3 times their body weight in food a
day.)

She set one of them free go two days ago.  It was more than ready to take
off since every time she opened the cage it was flying onto her shoulder!
The other two aren't quite ready yet but will be very soon.

I'll tell kili you are all still sending purrs her way.  She'll appreciate
your thinking of her.

Prayers and purrs on the way that the tests all come back with good
news!

:o) about the bluejays. Captain and Stanley offered their services as
playmates to the birdies. But then again, it rocked their world the
other night when our visiting kitty sat outside the front window,
growling and hissing at them through the screen. I don't think my
stripey boys could handle the stream of birdy-expletives that bluejays
are capable of emitting. ;o)

Donna, and the playful-but-nonconfrontational committee, Captain and
Stanley

The hospital isn't paying for this stay.  A benefactor has paid for the stay
at this place:

And the same benefactor said he'll pay for dinner, tonight, May 13th pick
out a place.  So they chose this and he didn't have a problem with it.

I'm really late with the purrs but we are sending loads of best wishes,
purrs and gentle hugs for kili. She is such a special person, all the
time taking care of helpless animals and sending out purrs for everyone
in need. Thanks for the update, Jill. Could you please tell her we are
thinking of her a lot.
Purrs,
Polonca and Soncek
