The Sock Taliban + my life lately

I'm actually surprised at how long it's been since I posted...I didn't
"think" I was gone that long, but apparently I have been!

Things got pretty insane over here.  I got a full time job, instead of
working 4 part time ones trying to make ends meet, suddenly I'm doing
half the work for twice the money.

And a month later I find out we're moving halfway across the country
to Dylan's new medical residency.

Suddenly--while working full time--I have to clean out 4 years of crap
from this apartment, while Dylan is gone on more training out of
province....

...and then my beloved car drops catastrophically dead.

I spend my spare time buying a new car with the money my grandma left
me.  Dylan comes home, and is informed he is the proud step-parent of
a 2006 Cobalt named Howlback.

Now Dylan is in Ottawa getting us an apartment.

And while he is gone, he forgot to shut his dresser drawer, and we
suffered an attack by The Sock Taliban (a branch of Al-Qitty).  In an
uncalled-for act of terrorism, his socks (and boxers) have been
scattered across the bedroom and down the hall, by someone who is
exceedingly irritated at the fact that he's here a couple weeks, gone
a couple weeks, month after month, and now he's gone again.

Nocturne threatens to do worse if he doesn't stop it soon.

Arrggghh!  No wonder you haven't been on line much.  It's too bad this had
to happen just when the job situation was looking so good.  Purrs for an
uneventful move and a job just as good or better when you get settled in
your new home.

FIL!!!  It's so nice to hear from you again.  I have been woefully absent
from the group myself, but now that my job problems have been resolved I've
promised myself more time to be here with my friends.  Even when I don't
have time to read the group extensively I *ALWAYS* read your posts (I do so
in self-defense - we have to keep an eye on the *other* bit*h queen of the
universe to stay one step ahead of her depredations! ;>).

Hello, we've never met; Pleased to meet you, etc. etc. etc.

But, seeing as how I don't really know you, I have to ask:

This "act of terrorism": is it one of those things that cat slaves
"conveniently" blame on their masters, when it is, in fact, they themselves
who have committed the acts? Just have to ask... :-)

Sadly, no.

Nocturne is the Warlord of the Feline World Order, a creature of
exalted evil even in a species renowned for its domination of lesser
creatures (like humans).

In addition to the Sock Taliban, Nox is also guilty of:

--waking up her humans by dropping the bedside lamp on our
heads...often enough that she now rocks the lamp, as a threat, and
drops it only if we don't get up

--illustrating displeasure through exhuming the entire contents of a
litterbox across the floor

--dropping pliers into my carry on luggage, much to the amusement of
airport security

Would you want to mess with this?

(pleased to meet you)

PS Thanks for the welcome back.  I'll try to be around a bit more
often :)

That is *exactly* the expression our Muriel has when taking
possession of Marion's clothes and fabric cupboard.  Think
you're getting me out of here?... just try it, pal.

LOL, was this just a typo, or are you contemplating the photos you could
get of the two of them together? :)

I read "cat" where you typed "car" and my heart stopped.

Good luck with the move and I hope Nocturne forgives you for it.

Well, the Al-Quitty and the Sock Taliban explains a lot. And I would not
mess around with your cat about socks either.
Good luck and lots of purrs for your upcoming excitement...

Tee hee! I sometimes suspect I'm playing host to an Al Kitty cell in
my apartment, too.Especially when the girls chase each other all over
the apartment in the dark, hissing and growling. =o)
And Nina is definitely a Sock Taliban--ooops, excuse me TAIL-iban,
member when it comes to keeping my clean washed clothes in line.

Congratulations on the job, although it always seems like either
nothing happens for a long time, or EVERYTHING happens in very short
order.
