That is extremely sad. It's hard enough to be dumped by a spouse, but to
lose your animals - who would probably be very comforting during such a
difficult time - is just terrible. It sounds like this husband is a real
jackass who's just pulling the rug out from under her and leaving her very
few resources or options. It's really a shame she couldn't find someone
(or a few people) to take her pets temporarily, until she had a situation
where she could take them back.
I hope she finds good homes for them!

What Joyce said.
I just feel so badly for this woman. I hope she is able to get some
kind of temporary financial aid. Those
are the people who *really* need it--the ones who just need help
getting out of a temporary hole.
Some humane societies will shelter pets for women like her for free.
But I imagine she is so overwhelmed
she can't see the end of the tunnel right now

That wasn't quite the word I had in mind, although one of the syllables is
involved. What an SOB. I hope your friend finds the help she needs; then gets
her babies together again so that they can give her comfort and strength
while she marches to her ex and puts a boot up his tuchas.
Blessed be,
Baha
